Role Description
As a Clinical Pathologist, the majority of your duties involve, but are not limited to, providing clients with diagnostic evaluation in the area of clinical pathology and providing necessary follow-up consultation. A high level of importance is placed on quality, timeliness, customer service, effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.

In This Role:

Responsible for gross and/or microscopic examination of clinical pathology specimens and preparation of pathology reports in a timely manner.

Meet caseload and turnaround expectations.

Provide telephone consultations to clients.

Consult with and assist other pathologists as needed to promote collegiality.

Partner with, advise, and assist laboratory personnel in proper specimen processing techniques and function as the pathologist on duty.

Promote the growth of IDEXX by actively participating in pathologist meetings and developing and maintaining professional relationships/contact with clients.

Participate in the quality control programs.

Maintain proficiency and develop diagnostic skills through regular continuing education.

Time may be provided off of routine diagnostic responsibilities to engage in other professional activities as approved by management.
Qualifications
-
Board certification in clinical pathology - American College of Veterinary Pathology (ACVP) or European College of Veterinary Clinical Pathology (ECVCP) preferred.

Applications from pathologists with local boards (e.g. FTA für Klinische Laboratoriumsdiagnostik) and board eligible pathologists are also encouraged.

Fluent in German and English.

Familiar with current topics and issues in clinical veterinary medicine.

Able to type and use dictation equipment.

Excellent verbal and communication skills.

Service-oriented attitude.

Able to organize and prioritize work.

Computer skills are required.

Experience in a veterinary diagnostic laboratory is preferred.
