Acts as the key liaison between Design & Release Engineers (DREs) and System Architects, ensuring that technical and regulatory needs are translated into clear, specific, and actionable requirements for the design, development, validation, and release of vehicle electrical and electronic components. Utilizes Requirements Engineering methodologies to elicit, analyze, document, and maintain system requirements. Experienced in specialized tools such as IBM DOORS for requirements management, IBM Engineering Workflow Management (RTC) for workflow control, and JIRA for issue tracking. Collaborates closely in system design and development, actively participating in the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC). Role Description We are seeking an experienced DataStage Migration Validation & ETL Test Engineer to support the migration of legacy IBM InfoSphere DataStage workloads to the Databricks platform. The ideal candidate will possess strong expertise in DataStage architecture, ETL validation, automated testing, SQL, and Python, with the ability to analyze legacy ETL logic and validate equivalent PySpark implementations. This role is critical in ensuring data integrity, accuracy, and successful migration to modern cloud-based data platforms. - Analyze and interpret complex IBM InfoSphere DataStage Parallel and Server jobs, sequences, and workflows. - Translate legacy ETL business logic into detailed functional documentation for the PySpark development team. - Design, develop, and execute automated testing frameworks for large-scale ETL migration validation. - Perform comprehensive data reconciliation between DataStage and Databricks environments. - Develop automated validation scripts to verify: - Data schemas - Row counts - Data quality - Business rule transformations - End-to-end ETL processing - Execute regression testing on migrated PySpark pipelines using historical production datasets. - Identify, analyze, and resolve data discrepancies throughout migration testing. - Document validation metrics, testing results, and migration KPIs. - Collaborate with Data Engineers, Architects, QA teams, and business stakeholders to ensure migration quality. - Provide formal migration validation sign-off prior to production cutover. Including EHS, Manufacturing Engineers, Engineering, Quality, Materials, Industrialization, Materials, and Sourcing. • Partner with channels on the development of new repair processes and qualifications. • Develop and implement reliability improvement strategies using industry best practices such as FMEA (Failure Mode and Effects Analysis), and Root Cause Analysis (RCA). • Collaborate with maintenance, operations, engineering, and safety teams to design and implement preventive and predictive programs. • Drive continuous improvement initiatives aimed at reducing equipment downtime and improve quality processes. • Lead investigations into failures and chronic issues, identifying root causes and implementing robust corrective actions to eliminate the problems from re-occurring. • Provide technical support for asset management, including equipment life cycle analysis and spare parts optimization. • Train local factory manufacturing engineers to deepen their expertise in process and equipment. • Participate in the design and installation of new equipment and implementation of processes, ensuring reliability is considered from the outset (Design for Reliability).
