Role Description GCI's Network Engineer II will apply engineering principles to multiple sub-groups within the Technology Solutions internal departments; responsible for architectural design, development, implementation, and support within the company and/or between business departments that follow telecommunication industry standards using engineering principles. - Ensures the integrity of high availability network infrastructure to provide maximum performance in design, implementation, and support. - Able to understand GCI standard engineering concepts of availability, efficiency, redundancy, scalability, and security. - Able to identify opportunities for continuous improvement of the current network and/or systems facilities. - Maximizes performance using network monitoring tools, troubleshooting network and/or system outages, scheduling updates, and collaborating with architects on optimization. - Maintains professional skillset by participating in educational opportunities, technical organizations, reading professional publications, and personal use of technology. - Provides detailed reports on network operational status, and milestones related to project completion. - Capable of remote site support for off-site personnel and customers. - Coordinates with project management and engineering teams on a regular basis. - Supports and manages escalation events. - Develops and updates documentation and support materials. - Mentors junior engineers and technicians. Qualifications - A combination of relevant work experience and/or education sufficient to perform the duties of the job may substitute to meet the total years required on a year-for-year basis. - High School diploma or equivalent. - Bachelor’s degree in Computer Technologies, Electrical Engineering, or relevant field. - Minimum of four (4) years’ experience in progressive engineering in information technology, development, and engineering, moderate to complex project management within telecommunications or related background. Requirements - Mid-level position for engineering professionals. - Must have a comprehensive understanding of telecommunications operations and functions and be familiar with Engineering functions, aspects, applicable codes, and standards. - Receives work assignments of a higher level but also receives general guidance, periodic review, and direction from the supervisor. - Participates in larger projects and can be counted on to complete specific assigned engineering tasks on time and within budgeted costs. - Capable of performing the role of project engineer for small projects; responsible for providing technical direction to junior engineers and technicians. - Demonstrated time management skills to manage multiple complex projects smoothly and professionally on time and on budget. • Extension and upgrade of Wired and Wireless Local Area Networks in MTFs • Survey and Design Reports, Installation, Integration and Test, Quality Control of documentation, and formal meetings • Configuration of Access Points, Servers, and WLAN Infrastructure • Information Assurance Authentication Testing and Evaluation of components

• Design comprehensive networking solutions for each business unit. • Configure and install network devices and services, such as switches, firewalls, VPNs, wireless access points. • Monitor and troubleshoot network performance and connectivity issues. • Perform network maintenance and system upgrades outside of core business hours. • Implement and enforce network security policies and best practices. • Collaborate with peer engineers and vendors to resolve network problems. • Document network architecture, configuration, and procedures. • Travel as needed to set up or maintain compute and networking systems. • Provide on-call support for network emergencies.

• Own and optimize the enterprise WAN and SD-WAN environment, ensuring resilient, high-performance connectivity across geographically distributed locations and critical business operations. • Serve as the senior technical escalation point for complex WAN and routing issues, leading root-cause analysis and restoring service across large-scale, multi-site production networks. • Drive continuous improvement of the network platform through SD-WAN optimization, upgrades, migrations, and operational enhancements across Cisco Meraki and Cisco Catalyst SD-WAN environments.
