Design Project Coordinator

• Serve as an extension of the Owner’s team, helping drive project execution, coordination, and delivery across design and construction stakeholders. • Manage and coordinate external design consultants (architectural, structural, MEP, civil) through all project phases, including scope changes, RFIs, and value engineering efforts. • Review design submissions and coordinate QA/QC processes to ensure compliance with owner standards, codes, and program requirements. • Track design milestones, deliverable schedules, and interdisciplinary coordination across the project portfolio. • Drive design standardization, lessons-learned integration, and continuous improvement of design management processes. • Serve as the owner's primary point of contact for all design-related matters, interfacing between design teams, construction/GC teams, and internal stakeholders. • Facilitate project kickoffs, design reviews, cross-functional coordination meetings, and milestone planning sessions. • Identify, track, and escalate project risks, schedule impacts, and delivery challenges to leadership and stakeholders. • Support permitting coordination and authority-having-jurisdiction (AHJ) engagement throughout the design and construction lifecycle. • Ensure project documentation, records, and final deliverables are complete, accurate, and successfully transitioned through project closeout. • Analyze project performance metrics, partner with client teams, and recommend operational improvements to reduce inefficiencies and scale program execution. • Leverage AI-enabled tools and workflows to accelerate deliverable reviews, streamline reporting, and improve decision-making.
Job Requirements
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, or Civil), or Construction Management
- 8–15+ years experience in design management for mission critical, industrial, or large commercial projects
- Familiarity with data center infrastructure (power, cooling, structured cabling)
- Experience managing multi-discipline design teams on $100M+ projects
- Proven ability to drive accountability and influence stakeholders without direct authority
- Experience leading process improvement initiatives and implementing operational efficiencies
- Preferred Qualifications Data center design, construction, mission critical, industrial, energy, manufacturing, semiconductor, or large-scale infrastructure experience.
- Experience supporting owner-side project delivery programs.
- Experience working with Engineers of Record (EORs).
- Familiarity with Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC).
- Basic understanding of Revit and BIM workflows.
- Experience developing or improving project management processes and standards.
- Experience using AI tools to improve productivity, reporting, workflow automation, or project delivery.
- PMP, PMI-ACP, CCM, or related project management certification preferred.
- Demonstrated use of AI tools and workflows to improve project management, reporting, process efficiency, knowledge management, or operational delivery.
