Patent and IP Attorney

• Oversee the preparation and prosecution of patent applications • Perform all aspects of patent prosecution, including drafting and filing office action responses • Develop and counsel business partners on strategies for protecting company innovations through patents • Advise business partners on legal issues related to open source software and data • Draft, review, and negotiate moderately complex matters and agreements

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical field; degrees in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or Physics are particularly relevant
  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited U.S. law school
  • USPTO registered patent attorney
  • 5+ years of patent drafting and prosecution experience in a law firm or technology company
  • Experience counseling business partners on open source software and data matters
