• Write clean, efficient code and participate in code reviews to ensure quality standards are maintained • Analyze code and identify bugs, using logical reasoning to resolve issues • Consistently deliver code on schedule and adhere to established processes • Work effectively as a team member, embracing and fostering LU’s Christian model and Mission – Training Champions for Christ • Complete individual assigned tasks effectively, ensuring deadlines are met with support from more senior developers • Actively participate in team meetings and brainstorming sessions • Effectively communicate technical concepts and code changes to team members through documentation and verbal discussions in meetings • Take ownership of assigned tasks and demonstrate initiative by proactively tackling smaller tasks • Maintain notes on coding practices and project requirements, and individual tasks for clarity and accessibility
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience
- Internship or coursework experience in software development
- Familiarity with fundamental programming concepts and at least one programming language (e.g., JavaScript, Typescript or Java/Spring)
- Familiarity with relational databases and queries (SQL)
- Familiarity of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript frameworks (e.g., React or Angular)
- Knowledge of basic testing frameworks and methodologies (e.g., unit testing)
- Comfortable using Bitbucket or Git for version control and collaboration
- Ability to communicate clearly and professionally, both verbally and in writing
