G/L Accountant

Role Description The G/L Accountant will perform various accounting functions including: - Complex account reconciliation - Preparing the general ledger for monthly, quarterly, and year-end closings - Supporting the annual audit - Performing additional duties as assigned While remote, the working hours for this position are 9 am-5 pm PST. Responsibilities - Support the period-end close procedures through the performance of balance sheet reconciliations, recording of adjusting journal entries, and completion of other accounting tasks as assigned - Maintain accuracy and completeness of the general ledger and ensure its compliance with GAAP - Monitor and report on key performance indicators to identify areas for improvement - Proactively review current procedures and seek opportunities to improve upon current workflows - Prepare balance sheet and Profit and Loss statement variance analysis for financial reporting - Assist with annual audit preparations - Focus areas: reconciliation between Accounting Services platform and accounting system (currently QBO), offboarding Brands, account reconciliations, adhoc reporting as needed Expectations for the Role - Communication: Timely communication is crucial. The G/L Accountant is expected to collaborate effectively with team members, stakeholders, and external parties using virtual communication tools. - Time Management: Manage workload efficiently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines consistently. Adapt to changing priorities while maintaining a high level of accuracy. - Independence: Requires a high degree of autonomy. Comfortable taking initiative, problem-solving independently, and driving tasks to completion with minimal supervision. - Professionalism: Maintain a high level of professionalism in all interactions. Exhibit proactive communication, responsiveness, and accountability in day-to-day responsibilities. - Adaptability: Must be adaptable and able to perform under pressure, especially during close periods and audit cycles. Role Description The Commercial Accountant is a blended financial and management accounting role, combining strong financial control with venue-level budgeting, forecasting, performance analysis and operational business partnering.
