Role Description We're looking for an Engineer II to join our Onboarding Squad, working on aspects of Soluna, responsible for our sign-up flows and customer management. This is a hands-on coding role, ideal for someone who loves building, wants to keep growing their craft, and is excited to help shape a product ahead of a major launch. You'll be joining at a genuinely exciting time: the squad is gearing up for the Soluna launch in September, building out a self-serve system for commercial contracts, and playing a key part in Kooth's product-led growth strategy. The team consists of around 40 people across the UK and US, all building products that help people access the support they need. We keep things simple and collaborative: - Daily stand-ups to plan and share updates - Fortnightly retros to keep improving how we work - Monthly product and engineering meetings - Regular team socials - No dedicated QA — we test each other's code, not our own, so peer review and quality ownership matter here We're also invested in your growth, with mentoring opportunities and a skills matrix to help you identify where to develop next. Qualifications - Hands-on software engineering experience (less than 3 years' business/professional experience) - Comfortable with pair programming and collaborative development - A genuine interest in architecture and how systems fit together - Strong attention to detail and a quality mindset - A growth mindset and enthusiasm for learning - Compassion for colleagues and a strong connection to Kooth's mission of making mental health support accessible to everyone Responsibilities - Build and maintain the sign-up and onboarding flows for Soluna - Collaborate closely with your squad, product, design, delivery, and fellow engineers to design and ship features that support the Soluna launch - Support product-led growth initiatives through your engineering work - Take part in peer testing to maintain code quality without a dedicated QA function - Participate fully in squad ceremonies: stand-ups, retros, and monthly eng/product meetings - Take an active role in your own development, using the skills matrix to identify growth areas and working with mentors across the team Benefits - Generous Annual Leave: Enjoy 28 days of annual leave, in addition to public holidays. - Financial Security: Secure your financial future with our pension contributions and annual company share option awards, giving you a stake in the success of the company. - Health and Well-being: Prioritize your health and well-being with our comprehensive AXA Health Insurance and access to an Employee Assistance Programme (EAP). - Life Assurance: Gain peace of mind knowing that you're covered with life assurance, providing up to four times your annual salary to your loved ones in the unfortunate event of your passing. - Flexible Working: Embrace the flexibility of remote working, allowing you to create a work-life balance that suits your needs and maximizes your productivity. - Lifestyle Benefits: Participate in the Cycle to Work Scheme, promoting a healthy and eco-friendly lifestyle, and take advantage of our Incapacity Income Protection to safeguard your financial stability in case of unforeseen circumstances.
Role Description We’re building a new product engineering team to create AI-powered platforms from scratch. Our AI Personal Lines team has already shown what’s possible, standing up cloud infrastructure and delivering a production-ready application in a matter of weeks. We’re hiring for a senior full stack engineer to help scale that approach. You’ll work across the stack, integrate AI and third-party services, and ship in a secure cloud environment. You’ll join a small, high-trust team where speed, ownership, and delivery matter. Duties and Responsibilities: - Build full-stack features across a TypeScript and Next.js front end and a cloud-based back end, using a server-side AI proxy approach to keep API calls and secrets out of the browser. - Integrate AI and LLM capabilities, including OpenAI APIs, retrieval-augmented generation, conversational flows, and agent frameworks like LangGraph, along with GPT actions and MCP servers. - Stand up and connect cloud infrastructure on Azure, including Functions (Python), Service Bus, Storage, API Management, Front Door, and B2C authentication. - Build and maintain integrations with external APIs for things like quoting, identity, document retrieval, and third-party data. Handle authentication, validation, and the edge cases that come with real-world usage. - Take ownership of code as it moves from sandbox to dev to staging to production, using CI/CD, clear branching practices, automated tests, and quality checks. - Partner with security to support a hardened architecture, including penetration testing and compliance requirements. - Work in a fast-paced, AI-supported development workflow with daily standups and Jira tracking, and troubleshoot production issues as they come up. Qualifications - 5+ years of experience building and shipping production web applications as a full stack engineer. - Strong TypeScript and JavaScript skills with a modern React framework, ideally Next.js, along with working experience in Python. - Hands-on cloud experience, preferably in Azure including Functions, Service Bus, Storage, API Management, Front Door, and B2C. Strong AWS or GCP experience is also a good fit. - Experience integrating third-party REST APIs, including authentication, rate limiting, and handling real-world, inconsistent payloads. - Security-minded engineering habits, including proper handling of secrets, use of request proxying, and a clear understanding of network boundaries. - Comfort working with CI/CD, Git-based workflows, and promoting code through multiple environments. - Proven ability to move quickly and deliver in ambiguous, fast-changing environments as part of a small team. Requirements - Nice to Have: Insurance, fintech, or other regulated-industry experience. - Infrastructure-as-code and cloud-architecture depth. - Experience integrating many external vendors or partners in parallel under time pressure.
