Software Engineer Manager – Customer Platform Engineering

• Collaborates and pairs with product team members (UX, engineering, and product management) to create secure, reliable, scalable software solutions. • Documents, reviews and ensures that all quality and change control standards are met. • Writes custom code or scripts to automate infrastructure, monitoring services, and test cases. • Works with vendors and partners for the successful implementation of critical tooling and platforms. • Creates meaningful dashboards, logging, alerting, and responses to ensure that issues are captured and addressed proactively. • Contributes to enterprise-wide tools to drive destructive testing, automation, and engineering empowerment. • Evaluates new technologies for adoption across the enterprise. • Participates in and leads review board sessions to drive consistency across the enterprise.
Job Requirements
- Must be eighteen years of age or older.
- Must be legally permitted to work in the United States.
- Mastery of an object oriented programming language (preferably Java).
- 6-8 years of engineering leadership experience, with a track record of growing engineers and delivering complex, distributed systems at enterprise scale.
- Deep fluency in AI-augmented engineering — you actively use and champion tools like GitHub Copilot, Gemini Enterprise, and Claude, and you hold your team accountable to measurable AI adoption.
- Comfortable with agentic workflows, MCP integrations, and responsible AI governance in production environments.
- Strong foundation in modern backend engineering: Java, Spring Boot, GCP, Cassandra, distributed search (Solr, Elasticsearch, MongoDB).
- Experience driving platform reliability, observability, cloud cost optimization, and security compliance across large-scale microservices.
- Ability to lead through ambiguity, manage cross-team dependencies, and drive change across a large engineering organization.
