What you’d be doing in this role As Canva scales, our ability to make fast, confident, data-informed decisions is critical. As a Senior Analytics Engineer in AI Help Experience (AIHX) group within User Voice org, you’ll sit at the intersection of data engineering and analytics. Your focus will be on transforming raw event and product data into clean, scalable, well-documented data models that enable product teams to deeply understand how our internal tools are being used - and where they deliver value to users. You’ll operate with growing independence - solving moderately complex data problems, applying established modelling best practices, and contributing to improvements in User Voice’s reporting ecosystem. You’ll collaborate closely with Data Scientists, Product Managers and Engineers, building strong partnerships while deepening your craft. At the moment, this role is focused on: - Lead & contribute to the optimisation of the data warehouse performance to achieve operational excellence, such as production stability & reliability, incident response and review. - Design and implement observability, monitoring & alerting best practices at scale across User Voice. - Building exceptional and robust warehouse platform & tooling capabilities that incorporate data governance and data management principles and controls - Applying software engineering practices to provide clean data sets from the data warehouse to end users. - Working primarily with SQL and Python to automate and optimize data loading and transformation systems. - Maintaining, operating, and tuning data infrastructure (Fivetran, Snowflake, Redshift, dbt, Looker, Mode Analytics, Census) at scale. - Developing infrastructure, tools and scalable data ingestion, access and modelling frameworks to support Canva's use of the data warehouse. - Designing and build out analytic data models that support answering questions from our product team and User Voice leadership. - Ensuring that our users’ data is protected throughout the data lifecycle and that it’s used with their consent to provide them with an amazing product experience.
