Role Description As a Full-Stack Developer on the AI team, you will build, maintain, and enhance AI-powered applications that support Surex's brokerage operations. You will work closely with AI engineers and business stakeholders to develop scalable web applications, integrate AI services into existing platforms, and deliver production-ready solutions that improve internal workflows and customer experiences. This is a hands-on engineering role focused on full-stack software development, cloud infrastructure, and AI integration. You will help bring AI-driven products from concept to production while building reliable, secure, and scalable applications. Responsibilities - Full-Stack Development - Design, develop, test, and maintain modern full-stack applications. - Build responsive frontend applications and scalable backend services. - Develop secure REST APIs and integrate with internal and third-party systems. - Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code following engineering best practices. - AI Integration - Build applications that leverage Large Language Models (LLMs) and AI services. - Integrate AI capabilities into existing business applications and workflows. - Develop and maintain prompt-based workflows, AI-powered automations, and internal tools. - Work closely with AI engineers to implement AI features and agent-based solutions. - Cloud & Infrastructure - Deploy, monitor, and maintain applications in Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and AWS. - Build and maintain cloud-native services using modern containerized architectures. - Implement CI/CD pipelines and automate deployment processes. - Monitor application performance, reliability, and system health. - Data & APIs - Design and optimize PostgreSQL database schemas, queries, and application data models. - Develop efficient SQL queries and stored procedures where appropriate. - Build and maintain integrations with Google BigQuery for analytics, reporting, and AI-powered applications. - Integrate applications with enterprise databases, APIs, and data pipelines. - Develop backend services that efficiently interact with PostgreSQL, BigQuery, and other enterprise data platforms. - Optimize application performance through efficient database design and query optimization. - Ensure secure access to enterprise systems and sensitive customer data. - Collaboration - Work closely with AI engineers, product owners, and business stakeholders to deliver high-quality software. - Participate in technical design discussions, code reviews, and sprint planning. - Contribute to technical documentation and engineering standards. - Continuously learn and adopt new technologies that improve development efficiency. Qualifications - 5+ years of professional software development experience. - Strong proficiency in Python. - Strong Linux system administration and development experience. - Strong SQL skills and hands-on experience with PostgreSQL. - Experience designing relational database schemas and optimizing complex SQL queries. - Experience working with Google BigQuery for analytics and application integration. - Experience building backend services using FastAPI, Flask, Django, or similar frameworks. - Experience building modern frontend applications using React, TypeScript, JavaScript, HTML, and CSS. - Experience designing and consuming RESTful APIs. - Experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP), including BigQuery, Cloud Run, Cloud Functions, Vertex AI, Cloud Storage, IAM, and deploying cloud-native applications. - Experience with AWS services such as EC2, Lambda, S3, RDS, IAM, ECS, or EKS. - Experience with Docker and containerized applications. - Experience building CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins, or similar tools. - Strong understanding of Git and collaborative development workflows. - Excellent debugging, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills. Preferred - Experience integrating applications with OpenAI, Gemini, Claude, or other LLM APIs. - Experience with Vertex AI and Google AI services. - Experience working with BigQuery. - Experience building AI-powered applications, internal tools, or workflow automation. - Experience with vector databases and Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG). - Familiarity with Model Context Protocol (MCP). - Experience with Kubernetes. - Experience with Terraform or Infrastructure as Code (IaC). - Experience working in financial services, insurance, or other regulated industries. - Understanding of cloud security best practices and secure application development. - Passion for learning new technologies and building practical AI-enabled software.
