Role Description The Product Manager – Smart Services Agreements will be focused on strategic products, projects, and initiatives to support Service Agreement growth and standardization for Trane Commercial HVAC in the Americas. The product manager will be assisting a broader team to meet or exceed Trane’s revenue growth targets, maintaining or growing market share and expanding margin in their product categories. Seeking a high-energy, results driven professional who understands the HVAC service business and is capable of articulating a strategic vision and executing that vision to deliver business results. This person should have excellent communication and executive presence and be seeking a highly visible opportunity to grow and develop toward a senior product leader, a portfolio leader, or other general management roles. What you will do (Essential Functions): - Manage tradeoffs between short- and long-term product performance as measured in revenue, margin, and market share. - Actively manage day-to-day needs of services offerings, with particular focus on identifying and delivering profitable growth opportunities. - Support regular industry, market and competitor analyses, including detailed segmentations of end consumers and customers. - Work with product leader to ensure that the positioning, pricing, cost, margins, and customer value proposition support the overall services strategy. - Initiate and support business cases for New Product Development (NPD) activities with clear line of site on incremental revenue, expanded margin, and direct/indirect business impacts and dependencies. - Collaborate with other service, controls, digital, and equipment product managers to ensure strategy supports broader system initiatives and ensures smooth integration with the overall strategy for Trane. - Collaborate with market research teams to understand customer needs and define the customer “Critical to Quality” requirements (CTQs) and associated systems to support product lines. - Review and approve/reject adjustments to offer structure, pricing, policies or service features to better meet customer needs and expectations, based on regular product/service line reviews. - Ensure pricing changes to all existing offerings to cover for inflation, market trends, competitor actions, changes to offer structure or features, and/or lifecycle stages. Qualifications - Bachelor’s degree or relevant industry experience required. MBA or equivalent preferred. - 5 years of combined experience in sales, marketing, P&L leadership and/or product management roles required. - HVAC experience, knowledge of building systems operation, extensive knowledge of field, service, and product required. - Excellent written and verbal communication skills required. - Demonstrated ability to lead through influence required. - Strong quantitative and analytical skills required. - Highly effective team player able to develop and sustain an extraordinary level of team commitment, employee engagement and ownership. - Exceptional influencing and leadership skills, ideally with demonstrated experience in an environment resistant to change. - Strong negotiation and communication skills at all levels of the organization. - Deep understanding of service business needs, cycles, and tradeoffs, with ability to craft and articulate a future vision. - Desire to be held accountable for business results. - Strong remote, virtual working and time management skills as well as potential national travel for in-person meetings, events, and training needs. - Ability to travel independently up to 20% of the time required. - Knowledge of LEAN practices and ceremonies preferred.
