About the Role Britannica is looking for an Editor to help launch and run a new daily newsletter debuting later this year. This role owns the full editorial operation of the brand — from calendar planning through publication. The Editor will work closely with a broader team of newsletter editors while taking day-to-day responsibility for the execution, quality, and growth of their title. The ideal candidate brings strong editorial judgment, sharp writing and editing skills, and experience managing freelance contributors to maintain a consistent, high-quality publishing cadence. About the Role The Studio Editor leads the execution of sponsored, branded, affiliate, and promoted content across all Britannica Group brands. This role sits at the intersection of Editorial, Product, and Revenue, ensuring high-volume programs run efficiently while maintaining brand standards and driving measurable revenue impact. Location: Remote/Chicagoland Responsibilities - Write and edit advertising copy across a large newsletter portfolio (22 brands, 600+ placements monthly). - Develop and refine branded content concepts (7-10 per month), and build client-ready pitch decks from approved concepts. - Assign out and top-edit long-form branded content (600-1000 words) for all brands, including, but not limited to, Britannica and Merriam-Webster. - Uphold Britannica’s high editorial standards, ensuring all copy is clear, accurate, engaging, and trustworthy. - Partner with Sales and Account Management teams on client needs and approvals, rallying around client KPIs. - Leverage available data to inform overall strategy, both on a granular, copyediting level and when brainstorming new campaigns. - Support revenue reporting and partner performance tracking. - Serve as the primary bridge between Editorial, Product, and Revenue, ensuring monetization strategies align with brand standards and editorial priorities. - Serve as the co-owner of our Affiliate strategy, ensuring goals are met without compromising editorial decision-making. - Oversee additional lines of business, like our Travel Deals emails and our Publisher Partnerships program, and be willing to top-edit, troubleshoot Airtable or WordPress errors, review performance, and sign off on I/Os when necessary.
