Senior Product Manager, Platform
Encyclopaedia Britannica, Inc.
• The Senior Product Manager, Platform will work with other product managers, UX, Design, Engineering and business stakeholders to drive and support innovation on Britannica Education’s products. • The role will be responsible for: - Supporting the product development process from conception to completion - Understanding complex data and technical dependencies - Executing and maintaining a streamlined user authentication process for teacher and student log ins - Working with the development team to solution and deliver SSO and LMS integration across product lines - Collaborating with cross-functional departments that include business owners, QA, technology, design, marketing, and editorial to execute product features and enhancements with a platform lens - Monitoring and analyzing product usage metrics and feedback to identify areas for improvement - Gathering and documenting functional requirements for product features; translating business needs (collect, edit, and summarize) into well-defined user stories for our development team - Project managing the product development process to execute and deliver results - Driving team accountability to timelines and deliverables across key stakeholders within the business - Light travel to home office, industry conferences, etc.
Job Requirements
- Education/Training: BA/BS or equivalent
- Experience: Min 5 years of progressive experience in the field of digital product management. Experience associated with platform development (e.g. integrations, APIs, data warehouses, SSO, etc.) required; Ed Tech experience highly preferred.
- Skills/Knowledge:
- Strong technical background in supporting integration with SIS and LMS systems
- Familiarity with content and learning management systems
- Familiarity with data pipelines including ETLs, data schemas, SQL, and data warehousing
- Strong track record of leading strong teams; to inspire, influence, and negotiate at all levels of the organization
- Good business acumen, fiscal skills, and comfort with accountability
- Strong project management skills including building and managing project plans, managing and communicating risks, and ensuring project alignment with business objectives
- Highly organized and proficient with Agile methodologies, with product management tools, software engineering processes, and writing/managing a backlog of requirements in the form of user stories
- Exceptionally detail-oriented with strong writing skills and a strong eye for good UX
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
- The successful candidate should be self-motivated and comfortable working independently; be flexible and creative in seeking solutions.
