Academic Assistant for Communication Studies

Role Description Academic Assistants (AAs) work in college-level courses (either in Moodle or the publisher web site) to ensure prompt feedback and a quality educational experience for students. AAs will assist faculty with facilitating online courses in several ways including: - Replying to student inquiries via email - Grading assignments using rubrics - Discussion forum ratings - Sending weekly reminders to the class AAs work harmoniously with faculty and supervisors to meet course needs. Duties within the course may vary and must be performed throughout the course duration. Academic Assistants are not responsible for creating course content or altering the course in any way. AAs are expected to stay up to date on required LSUA training including but not limited to FERPA, Sexual Harassment, Cybersecurity, and Moodle.
