Job Requirements
- Completed technical or commercial training, a technical degree, or an equivalent qualification
- Ideally a background in Food Technology, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Packaging Technology, Process Engineering, or a technical further qualification
- Initial professional experience in the sales of technically complex machines, plants, or production solutions
- Experience in the food processing industry, packaging machinery manufacturing, or a comparable industrial environment is an advantage
- Strong technical understanding and good customer-oriented application knowledge
- Sales-driven, proactive; enjoyment of customer contact
- Professional demeanor with a variety of interlocutors
- Ability to work independently, in a structured and goal-oriented manner from a home office
- Strong communication skills, negotiation ability, and the capability to present technical solutions clearly and with a focus on benefits
- Team player who leverages internal interfaces to develop the best possible solutions
- Business-fluent German and very good English, both written and spoken
- Regular travel within the sales region and, if necessary, to factories and technical centers in neighboring European countries
- Willingness to support customers from the food processing industry, including meat processing plants.

Role Description Luna Innovations is the global leader in distributed fibre-optic sensing: no one else matches the breadth and depth of our portfolio. The Regional Sales Director reports directly to the VP Sales & Marketing, Sensing Business Unit, and holds full commercial responsibility for Luna's sensing business across their region. This is a role for a builder. Beyond running the regional sales effort, the Director will bring the teams closer together into one, define the regional go-to-market plan, and put in place the team, territory and channel structure needed to win and grow efficiently. The core responsibility of the role is to grow revenue across the region, and build the regional organisation able to consistently deliver results.
