Role Description The Data Engineering Manager will be responsible for ensuring the scalability, reliability, and performance of the company's enterprise data platform. Key responsibilities include: - Leading development of data warehouses and data lakes on cloud-native data platforms. (13%) - Architecting and scripting large-scale data pipelines, leveraging tools like Snowflake, Databricks, Azure Cloud (Azure Data Factory, Functions, etc.), and ADLS to support business applications. (10%) - Securing critical datasets related to customer POI, home sales data, and mortgage trends. (11%) - Establishing and maintaining data governance policies and procedures to ensure data quality and integrity. (13%) - Staying at the forefront of industry trends and emerging technologies, continuously evaluating and adopting innovative solutions. (8%) - Collaborating with internal teams to integrate and oversee internal and vendor data systems ensuring data correctness. (8%) - Supporting the Enterprise Data Analytics Platform (EDAP) team in their mission to build a best-in-class data platform. (6%) - Developing transformation logic and supporting data management efforts using resources on Microsoft Azure. (5%) - Maintaining, synchronizing, wrangling, and migrating data across a hybrid environment. (3%) - Collaborating to understand, analyze, document, and implement data pipelines for event-based data replication. (3%) - Establishing methods to enrich the platform with new sources of information. (3%) - Participating with the broader team to enhance capabilities of the data platform, including strengthening analytical workflows executing on Stanley Martin's Business Intelligence tool (Looker). (2%) Qualifications - Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Electrical and Computer Engineering, Data Science, or a related technical field. - 6 years of industry experience in data engineering, with 3 years in real estate construction. Requirements - Proficient in homebuilder ERP platforms such as NEWSTAR and HomebuilderOne. - Experience with Microsoft Dynamics Finance and Operations 365, Lifecycle Services, Synapse Link, Power Apps, and BYOD. - Deep hands-on experience with cloud data platforms: Snowflake, Databricks, AWS Redshift, or Azure Synapse. - Experience with data migration and conversion tools like SnowConvert. - Proficient in using Python, Jinja, SQL, NoSQL, PowerShell, PySpark, Scala, and secure REST services. - Proficiency in using cloud platforms like Azure, GCP, or AWS. - Expertise in designing modern data architecture using tools like Coalesce, Fivetran, dbt Labs, Snowflake, Azure Data Factory, and Orchestra. - Familiarity with BI and reporting tools like Looker, Sigma, Workiva, and Vena. - Deep knowledge of large-scale distributed data architecture patterns and data governance principles. - Expertise in strategizing, planning, program management, and technical architecture for large-scale data modernization. - Expertise in building data pipelines, data warehouses, and BI solutions for the homebuilding industry. - Proficiency in developing and debugging complex data pipelines, ETLs, and workflows on cloud platforms optimized for high volumes of homebuilding data. - Expertise in Open-source Data Technologies in processing, storage, data quality - Iceberg, Delta Lake, Apache Flink, Kafka. - Proficiency with CI/CD tooling like Jenkins, Airflow, Kubernetes, and Git/GitHub.
