Assistant Manager of Compliance

OnTrac

Role Description The Assistant Manager of Compliance supports the development, implementation, and oversight of compliance programs to help ensure adherence to applicable laws, regulations, and internal policies. This role works cross-functionally to promote a culture of compliance, mitigate risk, and maintain operational integrity across the organization. The Assistant Manager also supports internal controls, compliance testing, training, reporting, and corrective action processes while leading and developing a team in alignment with company policies and management guidance. Qualifications - Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience - 2+ years of experience in compliance, risk management, operations, or a related field - Knowledge of compliance and risk management in a logistics or transportation environment - Proficiency in Microsoft Office and compliance technologies - Ability to successfully lead a team of professionals - Ability to travel up to 25% Requirements - Support regulatory compliance by ensuring business activities follow applicable regulatory requirements, internal policies, and industry-specific or location-specific laws. - Oversee controls and auditing by participating in oversight of internal controls and auditing systems that monitor and report on regulated activities and processes. - Conduct compliance testing through implementing risk-based testing of existing procedures and controls to identify, detect, and correct noncompliance. - Adapt compliance processes by evaluating new or amended regulations and supporting updates to compliance processes as needed. - Deliver training and communication to support initiatives that inform stakeholders about compliance requirements, expectations, and process changes. - Track reporting and corrective action by monitoring compliance metrics, incidents, and corrective actions to support visibility and accountability. - Lead and develop the team by hiring, managing, scheduling, coaching, evaluating, and developing team members, including supporting discipline, corrective action, and performance management activities.
