Estimator/Procurement Coordinator

Role Description This role combines estimating, procurement and project coordination. You'll be responsible for preparing quantity take-offs, obtaining supplier and subcontractor pricing, assisting with quote analysis, and ensuring approved works are handed over seamlessly for procurement and scheduling. Success in this role requires someone who is commercially minded, highly organised, and an excellent communicator who can confidently liaise with Australian suppliers, subcontractors and internal project teams. Responsibilities - Estimating - Perform accurate quantity take-offs from architectural and engineering drawings. - Review plans, specifications and scopes of work. - Identify missing information or discrepancies within documentation. - Prepare material quantities for pricing and procurement. - Procurement & Supplier Management - Obtain competitive quotations from suppliers and subcontractors. - Compare pricing, inclusions, exclusions and lead times. - Liaise with suppliers to clarify specifications and pricing. - Recommend the preferred supplier based on value, quality and delivery. - Quote Finalisation - Work closely with the Project Manager to finalise supplier selections. - Prepare procurement summaries for approval. - Ensure selected quotations align with project budgets and specifications. - Purchase Order Coordination - Submit approved supplier information to the Accounts team for Purchase Order creation. - Verify Purchase Orders before release. - Maintain accurate procurement records and documentation. - Project Coordination - Issue approved Purchase Orders to the Scheduling team for booking and coordination. - Follow up suppliers regarding delivery dates and availability. - Maintain clear communication between estimating, accounts, scheduling and project management. Qualifications - 3+ years' experience in construction estimating, procurement or project coordination. - Experience performing quantity take-offs from construction drawings. - Strong understanding of Australian construction terminology. - Experience obtaining and comparing supplier and subcontractor quotations. - Excellent written and verbal English communication. - High attention to detail and organisational skills. - Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. - Strong Microsoft Excel skills. Requirements - Experience working with Australian construction companies. - Knowledge of commercial or residential construction methods. - Experience with Bluebeam Revu, Buildxact, Cubit, CostX, PlanSwift or similar estimating software. - Experience with procurement or purchasing processes. - Familiarity with Purchase Order workflows.
