Job Description

Director, Strategic Sourcing – Procurement

Thermo Systems

• Build and lead Thermo Systems' strategic sourcing and procurement function, including governance, operating rhythms, supplier engagement, and spend visibility. • Develop preferred and tiered supplier strategies across key spend categories, with clear expectations for cost, lead time, quality, service, and performance. • Negotiate supplier agreements that improve pricing, terms, availability, service levels, and long-term value for Thermo Systems. • Identify opportunities for cost savings, cost avoidance, rebates, supplier consolidation, and commercial leverage as Thermo continues to grow. • Support Commercial and Technical Sales teams with supplier quotes, budgetary pricing, RFQs, and buyout assumptions during proposal and pre-award activities. • Centralize and improve project procurement execution, including RFQs, supplier negotiations, PO execution, expediting, and supplier follow-up. • Partner with Project Managers, Engineering, and Finance to ensure procurement decisions align with technical requirements, project budgets, schedule needs, and customer commitments. • Develop supplier availability strategies, including supplier-held inventory, reserved capacity, blanket agreements, and long-lead material programs. • Manage enterprise procurement where there is clear value, including IT, software, professional services, facilities, freight, general leasing, and other indirect spend.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain, procurement, business, operations, engineering, finance, or a related discipline; advanced degree or relevant supply chain/procurement certification is a plus.
  • 8+ years of progressive experience in strategic sourcing, procurement, supply chain, category management, supplier management, or related operating roles.
  • Experience building or scaling procurement processes, supplier strategies, category plans, sourcing standards, or procurement operating models in a growing business.
  • Experience supporting project-based, engineering, construction, industrial automation, systems integration, manufacturing, or technical services environments is preferred.
  • Experience negotiating supplier agreements, improving payment terms, managing RFQ processes, and driving cost savings or cost avoidance.
  • People leadership experience or demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional work through influence is preferred.
