Role Description SMX is standing up and scaling an agentic AI practice: bringing agentic software engineering (autonomous AI agents that write, test, and modernize code) to Department of War, Federal Civilian, and Intelligence Community customers, with SMX's accreditation and authorization platform as the control and management plane. This role is the deputy to the practice owner and the field-facing technical person for the practice. You are more technical than a seller, more commercial than an architect, and you can build. You carry the load across the full scope of the practice: - Setting technical direction - Shaping and closing opportunities - Prototyping and validating solutions with your own hands - Representing the practice owner in customer, partner, and internal forums This is a remote position supporting a Herndon, VA based team. Qualifications - Active U.S. Government security clearance, Secret minimum, with Top Secret and SCI eligibility strongly preferred given IC pursuits. - Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, a related discipline, or commensurate work experience. - At least eight (8) years in technical sales, sales engineering, or solutions architecture in a corporate or government solutions environment, including time operating at a strategic, executive-facing level. - Demonstrated experience with agentic AI / LLM developer tooling (autonomous coding agents such as Devin, or comparable). - Able to prototype, integrate, and validate solutions directly. - Proven technical sales success in high-security and compliance-driven environments. - Experience as a Solution Architect with multiple full life-cycle customer implementations. - Demonstrated ability to personally lead customer demonstrations and present reference architectures to technical buyers. - Experience with modern IT practices, DevSecOps, and cloud operations (AWS, Azure, or GCP). - Experience with architectural and implementation-level design and with software development methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, SAFe). - Excellent verbal, written, and visual communication skills. - Deep technical curiosity and the ability to problem-solve and create solutions under ambiguity. Requirements - Second in Command for the practice owner. - Represent the practice and carry decisions in customer, partner, and internal settings when the owner is not in the room. - Own the technical narrative across the full opportunity lifecycle, from qualification to close, as the practice's lead technical seller. - Deliver compelling demonstrations of agentic software engineering platforms to technical and program stakeholders in customer settings. - Prototype, integrate, and validate agentic AI solutions hands-on. - Develop and communicate architectures that integrate agentic AI with SMX's authorization platform and customer mission systems. - Contribute to offering definition, partner strategy, pipeline prioritization, and the go-to-market motion. - Direct and validate feasibility in partnership with SMX solutions architects and the delivery organization. - Drive cross-functional execution across capture, growth, delivery, and partner functions. - Author and review proposals as a technical lead. - Advance a qualified AI and agentic solutions pipeline of DoW opportunities. - Support co-sell with technology and cloud partners. - Represent SMX externally in customer briefings, industry panels, and thought-leadership sessions. • Design and deliver hands-on AI training across Development, QA, and DevOps. • Own and continuously evolve the training curriculum to ensure it remains up to date. • Review trainees' submitted code and exercises, providing direct, practical feedback. • Stay hands-on with emerging AI tools, including coding assistants, MCP servers, and AI-driven CI/CD automation. • Deliver practical training in AI-assisted software delivery, including coding, test automation, code review, and CI/CD. • Apply broad, hands-on knowledge across the full software development lifecycle rather than a front-end or back-end specialism. • Work collaboratively with other trainers and curriculum contributors while independently designing and delivering training.

• Build systems to continuously identify acquisition, partnership, and investment opportunities, utilizing AI tools. • Monitor emerging startups, competitors, funding activity, hiring trends, and market signals. • Build relationships with founders, investment firms, investment bankers, and brokers. • Evaluate acquisition opportunities through financial, operational, technological, and strategic lenses. • Develop investment theses supported by internal operations and market intelligence. • Build financial models, valuation analyses, and scenario planning. • Present recommendations to executive leadership. • Lead comprehensive commercial, financial, legal, product, technology, and operational diligence. • Use AI agents and automation to synthesize large volumes of information into actionable insights. • Identify customer, revenue, technical, cybersecurity, and organizational risks. • Coordinate cross-functional diligence across Product, Engineering, Finance, Legal, Security, HR, and Operations. • Manage transactions from initial outreach through closing. • Coordinate internal and external stakeholders including legal, accounting, tax, and consulting partners. • Support negotiations, LOIs, purchase agreements, and transaction structures. • Drive project management across multiple stakeholders and workstreams. • Partner with business leaders to develop post-acquisition integration plans. • Identify operational synergies and AI automation opportunities. • Measure acquisition performance against strategic objectives. • Ensure successful Day One execution and long-term value realization.

• Lead the development and ongoing improvement of a comprehensive AI Governance Framework aligned with Dotmatics' risk appetite and regulatory obligations, including the EU AI Act, ISO 42001, and NIST AI RMF • Maintain an AI use case registry, establish risk tiering and oversight levels for AI systems, and provide subject matter expertise to evaluate AI tools, models, and applications proposed by business and product teams • Partner with leadership and functional teams to assess AI use cases across model behaviour, data usage, privacy, and operational risk; ensuring alignment with the company's ISO/IEC 27001 ISMS, ISO 9001 QMS, and GxP requirements • Serve as program lead for the Dotmatics AI Governance Council, coordinating agendas, workflows, and decision-ready materials for Council and executive review • Act as the primary Dotmatics liaison to the Siemens AI Governance Consortium, representing the company in cross-portfolio working groups and contributing to joint frameworks and maturity models • Provide AI governance responses to customer RFIs, security questionnaires, and due diligence inquiries • Embed governance checkpoints into the SDLC alongside Product and Engineering; align AI controls with the broader security posture and incident response procedures • Lead the creation and maintenance of AI governance policies, SOPs, and supporting documentation; and develop and deliver AI governance training across the organization • Produce management reporting, metrics, and dashboards to keep senior leadership informed of program status, risk exposure, and control effectiveness • Drive continuous improvement by incorporating lessons learned, evolving standards, and regulatory developments
