Dairy Technology Sales Specialist

• Travel throughout an assigned territory, calling on existing and prospective customers • Builds long-term mutually beneficial relationships with dairy, consulting veterinary practices, consulting nutritionists, and state livestock associations • Presents and demonstrates new technologies to customers and educates them on the features, advantages and benefits of each product • Quotes prices and credit terms based on target margin objectives • Prepares sales contracts for orders obtained • Ensures orderly transfer of customer relationship to appropriate customer representative after establishing customer account • Compiles and maintains targets lists of prospective customers for use as sales leads • Assists field support computer technicians in the installation and/or repair of technology management systems • Acts as secondary support person for all technologies in assigned territory • Participates in sales efforts with the Territory Managers and Sales/Service Representatives • Prepares various reports of business transactions, including accurate and timely expense reporting, sales call reporting, etc.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree with one to three years of outside sales experience is required
- Minimum of ten years’ related experience if no Bachelor’s degree
- Excellent interpersonal, presentation and organizational skills
- Proven ability to sell
- A valid drivers’ license and good driving record are mandatory
- Ability to travel overnight on occasion, may be up to 50% of the time
