Role Description This position is needed to lead the disaster recovery (DR) program. This leader is responsible for communicating, developing, implementing, maintaining and managing the governance of the enterprise disaster recovery management (DRM) program. The objective of this program is to support product and IT systems' resilience and timely recovery, regardless of cause. Responsibilities - Lead the annual plan development, review, and executive sign-off lifecycle for critical product and non-product systems. - Actively integrate disaster recovery vulnerabilities, Service Readiness Framework (SRF) findings, and exercise gaps into existing risk frameworks to quantify, score, and systematically drive down operational risk across the company. - Author clear program updates, annual compliance metrics, and formal responses to internal and external audit findings. - Partner across the organization to support the execution of unified Gamedays and quarterly technical tests to ensure critical applications fail over predictably. - Benchmark and audit actual technical execution against strict Recovery Time Objectives (RTO) and Recovery Point Objectives (RPO). - Convert static, document-heavy continuity playbooks into clean, runnable-style procedures to optimize recovery coordination. - Review and audit the independent business continuity and disaster recovery plans of high-exposure third-party SaaS vendors to proactively isolate and eliminate downstream single points of failure (SPOFs). - Verify fallback processing environments, ensuring that automated remediation workflows are fully provisioned and mapped before disruptions occur. - Serve as the technical disaster recovery authority during active live disruptions, seamlessly synchronizing recovery activities with existing tactical response teams. Qualifications - Certification: Active Certified Business Continuity Professional (CBCP) designation required. - Technical Domain Depth: Practical familiarity with cloud infrastructure platforms (AWS console operations), containerization ecosystems, database synchronization architectures, and centralized configuration directories. - Crisis Competency: Proven experience leading technical response or recovery workflows during high-severity live outages alongside incident management teams. - Communication: Exceptional verbal and written communications skills; ability to distill highly dense technical single points of failure (SPOFs) into clear, actionable financial and engineering risk metrics for senior security leadership. Role Description The Senior Manager of Container Orchestration Services leads the design, delivery, and continuous improvement of Lumen’s Rancher as a Service (RaaS) platform as a clearly defined Managed IT Service that advances service transformation across multi-cloud environments. This leader is responsible for managing a high-performing team of Kubernetes platform engineers who operate and scale a large enterprise Rancher environment spanning AWS (EKS), Azure (AKS), GCP (GKE), and on-prem clusters. The role focuses on transforming Kubernetes operations from fragmented platform support into a standardized, secure, automated, and customer-centered service model. Qualifications - Experience transforming technical platforms into customer-facing Managed IT Services with defined offerings, service levels, intake models, roadmaps, and measurable outcomes. - Deep experience managing Kubernetes platforms at enterprise scale, including multi-cluster and multi-cloud environments. - Strong expertise with Rancher or similar Kubernetes management platforms. - Hands-on knowledge of CSP-managed Kubernetes services (EKS, AKS, GKE). - Proven experience leading platform engineering or SRE teams supporting production workloads. - Expertise in Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform) and CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, Jenkins, GitLab). - Strong understanding of container ecosystems (Kubernetes, Docker, Helm, service meshes). - Experience operating platforms with multi-tenant application workloads and self-service capabilities. - Demonstrated ability to improve service experience through self-service, automation, knowledge management, adoption tracking, and continuous feedback loops. - Knowledge of observability platforms (Datadog, Prometheus, Grafana) and site reliability principles. - Strong understanding of cloud networking, identity (IAM), and security principles in Kubernetes. - Experience with compliance-driven environments (FedRAMP, NIST, etc.) preferred. - Proficiency in scripting or programming languages such as Python or Go. - Strong communication and leadership skills with the ability to influence across engineering and business teams. - Ability to communicate service value, operational performance, roadmap tradeoffs, and transformation progress to executive, engineering, and customer stakeholders.
