Data Engineering Analyst
Eptura
• Design, develop, and maintain Power BI dashboards, reports, semantic models, and DAX measures supporting multiple business functions. • Build and support the SQL-based data warehouse layer, including views, stored procedures, and dimensional data models. • Develop and maintain reporting solutions aligned with the team’s layered data architecture (bronze, silver, and gold). • Partner directly with stakeholders across Customer Experience, Support, Revenue Operations, and Finance to gather requirements and understand business objectives. • Translate business needs into meaningful reporting solutions and data-driven recommendations. • Advise stakeholders on data definitions, reporting capabilities, limitations, and best practices. • Monitor and maintain data quality, ensuring reporting accuracy and consistency across business domains. • Manage scheduled dataset refreshes and proactively troubleshoot refresh failures and data discrepancies. • Investigate reporting issues, perform root-cause analysis, and implement sustainable solutions. • Automate recurring reporting processes, including business review reporting, forecast reporting, renewal tracking, and operational metrics. • Contribute to the development and adoption of automation and AI-enabled data operations workflows. • Collaborate with data engineers, analysts, and business partners to continuously improve reporting processes and documentation. • Track work, priorities, and deliverables through Jira while following established development processes. • Utilize Git and version control best practices to manage data warehouse and reporting assets. • Participate in code reviews, testing, documentation, and continuous improvement initiatives. • Support the modernization and documentation of legacy reporting processes and systems. • Gradually assume ownership of reporting domains and business areas as expertise grows.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Data Analytics, Business Intelligence, Computer Science, Information Systems, Finance, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Strong curiosity about business performance and a desire to understand the context behind metrics and reporting requirements.
- Working proficiency in SQL, including joins, aggregations, subqueries, and common analytical querying techniques.
- Experience building dashboards, reports, and visualizations using a business intelligence platform, preferably Power BI.
- Solid understanding of data modeling concepts, including fact and dimension structures and dimensional modeling principles.
- Ability to translate complex business requirements into scalable data and reporting solutions.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Experience working within a ticket-based project management environment such as Jira or similar tools.
- Familiarity with version control systems such as Git and collaborative development practices.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities while delivering high-quality work in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy and reliability.
- Preferred Qualifications
- Hands-on experience with Power BI semantic models, DAX, dataset refresh management, gateways, and row-level security.
- Experience with Microsoft SQL Server and/or Azure Synapse Analytics.
- Familiarity with workflow automation platforms such as Power Automate.
- Exposure to SaaS or subscription-based business metrics, including renewals, bookings, pipeline, forecasting, and customer support data.
- Experience supporting cross-functional business teams through data and reporting solutions.
- Interest in AI-assisted analytics, automation, and emerging agentic technologies.
- Experience modernizing or documenting existing reporting environments and legacy reporting processes.
- Ability to quickly learn new business domains and establish trusted relationships with stakeholders.
