Responsibilities: - Collaborate with senior engineering leaders, engineers, and a staff of full-time contract professionals on application requirements, incorporating desired functionalities into application development plans, and ensuring successful delivery across the application development lifecycle - Provides strategic guidance on technological capabilities, limitations, and emerging innovations that align with the business product roadmap and functional operations that enhance the client experience - Strategic technical areas of focus will include: - Architecture & Design Review - Prepare and review architecture diagrams, design concepts, and implementation of Kafka-based integrated solutions using Confluent Cloud and Confluent Platform, ensuring they are highly scalable, resilient, and future-proof. - Support the execution and integration activities with third party IT vendors, including environment setup, configuration, data migration, and system validation. - Create scalable architectures, integrating disparate systems (cloud, on-prem, and hybrid), and managing the database structural requirements for large-scale applications - Document technical designs and conduct code reviews to maintain quality, performance, and security standards. - Platform Support - Support the end-to-end process for onboarding the application to Broadridge's Integrated Platform - Help drive the integration to the new cloud-based structure utilizing Confluent Platform components: Kafka brokers, Schema Registry, Kafka Connect, ksqlDB, and REST Proxy. - Deployment & Automation - Lead deployments and configurations of new software build on both on-prem and cloud envs. - Automate provisioning, deployment, and maintenance tasks with Terraform, Chef, Ansible, Jenkins, or similar CI/CD tools. - Perform application integration, API design, and system migration, often managing multi-cloud or SaaS environments. - Quality Engineering and Troubleshooting - Collaborate with Quality Engineering to implement robust monitoring, alerting, and observability frameworks using Splunk, Datadog, Prometheus, or similar tools - Proactively troubleshoot Kafka clusters, diagnose performance issues, and conduct root cause analysis for complex, distributed environments. - Ensure complete end-to-end testing of solutions is automated using Enterprise tools for both Smoke and Regression tests - Leads technical design sessions and works closely with multiple teams to review work (architecture, code, etc.) - Handles technical implementation, code quality, and supports the overall productivity of the development team - Plays a lead role in meetings between the Product Team, Engineering, Quality, and Infrastructure teams to provide technical leadership/guidance and help coordinate to remove impediments/roadblocks - Provides estimates of all priority and non-priority projects to Engineering leaders along with recommended scope or schedule changes based on capacity and unforeseen challenges - Offers strategic guidance to engineering team on application solutions, data design, testing, troubleshooting, software development tools, technology and application development methodologies, architectures, integration strategies, governance, quality assurance and business support processes - Maintains balance across the spectrum of building, running, and growing the application portfolio Qualifications: - Bachelors (Master's Preferred) degree in computer science, computer engineering, or in a related field - 12+ years of experience operating within an Enterprise Technology structure, with extensive development experience in .NET and AWS Cloud - Strong understanding of modern technologies such as Angular, React, Java, PostGresSQL, Kafka and REST APIs - 10+ years of relevant IT experience within financial, investment, and /or fin-tech institutions, with IT project leadership experience - 5+ years of experience creating logical and physical data models, defining database schemas (SQL, NoSQL, Graph/Neo4j) - Functional skills in a full Application Development Life Cycle/ Agile Development, Architecture and System Design, DevOps / Deployment automation, including GitLab, Jenkins and JFrog - Proven track record of supporting a technology integration and/or transformation initiatives-such as modernizing legacy platforms and implementing modern frameworks and architectures Compensation Range: The salary range for this position is between $165,000- $175,000 USD.
