Job Description Role Overview The CAPEX Controller - Sricity is the dedicated finance partner for Mondelēz India's single largest-ever capital investment - building the biggest chocolate factory in the world. This high-impact, high-visibility role owns end-to-end financial management of the Sricity expansion: CAPEX planning, procurement controls, cash & payables, fixed asset management, and capitalization & depreciation governance. Key Responsibilities CAPEX Planning & Governance: - Lead financial planning, investment approvals, ROI evaluation, and phased spend execution for the Sricity program - the largest CAPEX initiative in Mondelēz India, representing >50% of total country CAPEX. - Conduct post-implementation reviews; collaborate with AMEA regional teams for major investment approvals. - Partner with the Site Director and Engineering teams on capacity & capability readiness aligned to growth milestones. Procurement Controls & Finance Partnering: - Act as the on-ground finance partner to engineering & procurement - validating spend decisions, negotiating vendor payment terms, and ensuring performance-based clauses (milestone releases, penalty provisions, post-installation holds). - Review all vendor contracts for financial soundness in partnership with the dedicated legal resource. Cash Management & Payables: - Drive quarterly cash planning with the India Cash COE - determining spend, advances, and deferrals aligned to COE cycles. - Coordinate with Accenture team for timely vendor payments; manage non-standard one-time payables outside automated cycles. - Enforce controls around advance and deferred payments based on milestones and vendor performance. Fixed Asset Management & Capitalization, Depreciation: - Own end-to-end fixed asset lifecycle - CWIP accumulation & tracking pre-commissioning, on-ground asset verification, and physical reconciliation at site. - Drive capitalization once assets are commissioned - ensuring accuracy, completeness, and audit readiness. - Lead capitalization reviews and manage depreciation schedules for all Sri city assets in line with accounting standards and internal policies. - Partner with the AER team on policy alignment; support internal & external audits on CAPEX, fixed assets, and depreciation. Contract & Commercial Review: - Review all vendor contracts for financial soundness: payment terms, milestone-based releases, penalties, and post-installation disbursement conditions (e.g., final 10-20% held until successful commissioning). Mandatory Requirements Total Experience - Minimum 3-6 years in finance roles CAPEX Experience - Minimum 1-2 years of hands-on CAPEX management - non-negotiable Qualification- CA / MBA Finance (preferred) Preferred Background- Plant finance with CAPEX/depreciation focus; FMCG or large-scale greenfield/brownfield exposure Knowledge & Skills: - Functional: Deep CAPEX lifecycle knowledge (planning - procurement - installation - capitalization - depreciation); cash management & working capital principles; procurement and contract commercial clauses. - Technical: CAPEX evaluation & ROI modelling; fixed asset accounting (CWIP, capitalization, depreciation); SAP (preferred); advanced Excel & dashboarding. - Competencies: Strong on-ground coordination & physical site presence; cross-functional collaboration (engineering, procurement, legal, finance); ability to influence from analyst to director level; structured analytical mindset; effective communication in a fast-paced expansion environment.
