The Business Analyst (BA) partners with business leadership, stakeholders, and delivery teams to define, analyze, and deliver solutions that align with business goals. The BA bridges business needs and technical capabilities, ensuring requirements are clear, actionable, and aligned with strategic objectives. Business Analysis & System Insight - Collaborate with business leadership, stakeholders, and users to define and document requirements, objectives, and success metrics. - Analyze current processes, identify improvement opportunities, and translate business needs into actionable solutions and specifications. - Ensure solutions and documentation meet business needs, including supporting user stories, use cases, and system updates Team Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement - Partner with business leadership and teams to refine backlog, prioritize work, and support story creation. - Facilitate clear communication, consensus-building, and alignment among stakeholders, clients, and technical staff. - Foster trust and act as a liaison to ensure shared delivery goals across teams. Product Delivery & Continuous Improvement - Develop a deep understanding of system functionality and business rules to support both project work and operational activities. - Resolve support issues, drive process and product improvements, and leverage tools and technology to enhance analysis and delivery efficiency. Nelnet believes in a hybrid work environment that accommodates both in-office and remote work. The standard hybrid work schedule includes a 24/16 hour (in-office/work-from-home) split for associates that reside within 30 miles of an office. This is subject to change, based on manager discretion. NOTE: Internal Associates working in a remote capacity may be considered for this position. Qualifications - Experience: Proven background as a Business Analyst, Systems Analyst, Operational Analyst, or similar role. - Skills: Strong communication, leadership, and relationship-building abilities; technical proficiency in SQL, data analysis, diagramming tools (e.g., Lucidchart, Visio), and test management platforms is a plus. - Education: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience. Additional Information This role requires strong collaboration with business, IT, and leadership teams. The IT Business Analyst adapts to changing needs and helps ensure alignment across product strategy and team structures.
