Role Description Are you an experienced quality assurance professional with a passion for language quality, AI, and team leadership? We are looking for a Japanese-speaking Quality Control Lead to join a large-scale AI training program. In this role, you will lead the quality strategy for the Japanese locale, ensuring consistent guideline application, coaching Quality Control Reviewers, and maintaining high-quality standards across a variety of AI training tasks. This is an exciting opportunity to combine your expertise in language quality, AI data annotation, and people leadership while helping improve the next generation of AI systems. - Lead and support a team of approximately 10 Quality Control Reviewers, ensuring consistent quality standards across the Japanese locale. - Review reviewer feedback, audit quality, and ensure alignment with project guidelines. - Act as the primary quality point of contact for the Japanese locale, resolving quality questions and escalating complex issues when necessary. - Conduct calibration sessions and provide structured coaching to improve reviewer performance. - Monitor quality trends, identify risks, and proactively address performance gaps. - Support the onboarding and development of new Quality Control Reviewers. - Collaborate with global Quality Teams to improve processes, documentation, and quality consistency across AI training tasks. Qualifications - Native-level proficiency (CEFR C2 or equivalent) in Japanese. - Professional written and spoken English. - Minimum 2 years of experience in AI training, data annotation, linguistic quality, localization QA, or a related quality assurance role. - At least 1 year of experience leading or supervising reviewers, annotators, or quality teams. - Strong understanding of linguistic quality, including grammar, fluency, tone, register, and cultural nuances. - Experience providing structured, evidence-based feedback and coaching others to improve quality. - Excellent analytical skills with the ability to evaluate complex tasks where there may not be a single correct answer. - Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced remote environment. Requirements - Degree in Linguistics, Computer Science, Engineering, or another analytical field (nice to have). - Experience with Large Language Models (LLMs), RLHF, AI data annotation, prompt evaluation, or NLP projects (nice to have). - Familiarity with annotation platforms and quality management processes for AI datasets (nice to have). During a Typical Day, You’ll: - Assist the Quality/Training Manager and Assistant Manager in auditing Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for TTEC Operations. - Review and evaluate operational procedures, including Customer Service interactions from all communication channels. - Coordinate the logistics and conduct related audits, including sample selection, documentation, and reporting of results. - Facilitate periodic calibration sessions with the Customer Service department and all other areas of operations. - Assist with administrative functions, including developing Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Quality Standard Definition Document (QSDD). - Assist with the data and analysis of quality reports in conformance with agreed-upon formats. - Perform special projects as required, such as assisting with the development, research, and delivery of new training. - Flexibility to perform job duties on-site, off-site, or remote, as business needs dictate. Qualifications - High school diploma or equivalent. - 6 months or more of customer service and call center experience. - Understanding, interpreting, and manipulating data for reporting.
