Role Description Outset is seeking a Junior Software Engineer to join our Cloud Infrastructure & Platform team. In this role, you will contribute to building, operating, and evolving the mission-critical backend systems that power Tablo devices and Outset's application ecosystem. You will work on brownfield systems, adding new capabilities, refining existing features, building tooling, and supporting cloud operations alongside an experienced, highly efficient team. We are looking for someone who learns fast, thrives across multiple contexts, and communicates clearly. Qualifications - You learn quickly and embrace unfamiliar territory, picking up new technologies, systems, and requirements without needing a full playbook handed to you. - You can hold multiple goals and contexts in parallel without losing clarity on what matters most right now. - You communicate clearly and proactively, both written and verbal, with teammates and across teams. - You have a strong ownership mindset. When you pick something up, you see it through and follow up. - You have a practical appreciation for software quality, best practices, and clean engineering. - You are comfortable working on existing systems, understanding before making changes and improving them without breaking functionality. Requirements - Minimum 2 years of hands-on software engineering experience. Internship experience counts. - No specific degree requirement. Demonstrated skills and a strong track record matter more than credentials. - Experience with Java (Spring Boot, Maven) or a comparable backend language and framework. - Working knowledge of AWS services such as EC2, ECR, ECS, Lambda, S3, DynamoDB, Cognito, SNS, SQS, CloudWatch, CloudTrail, CodePipeline, and CodeArtifact. - Familiarity with containerization and CI/CD pipelines such as Docker, Jenkins, or equivalent tools. - Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively in English, both written and verbal. - Strong communication skills with the ability to express ideas clearly and manage competing priorities across teams. - Proven ability to quickly learn new tools, systems, or technical domains and successfully apply them. Benefits - Ability to work remotely from anywhere in Mexico, with infrequent travel to our offices in Tijuana and/or San Jose as needed.
