Role Description McKesson’s Strategic Finance team is seeking a Director of M&A Finance to play a critical role in shaping the company’s long‑term growth and capital deployment strategy. This is a high‑visibility individual contributor opportunity for a seasoned finance leader who thrives at the intersection of strategy, valuation, and executive decision‑making. In this role, you will serve as a trusted financial partner to senior leadership, providing rigorous analysis and clear insights that directly influence McKesson’s mergers, acquisitions, and capital allocation decisions. Your work will have a tangible impact on the future of a Fortune 10 organization. This position can be remote in the US, with potential for quarterly travel to Irving, TX. The Director of M&A Finance will support the company’s efforts to drive financial and strategic decisions at McKesson, assisting the team with the financial evaluation of McKesson’s M&A and capital deployment process. Key Responsibilities - Lead the creation of the valuation analysis for M&A opportunities using discounted cash flow model and other relevant valuation practices. - Actively manage the M&A due diligence process by coordinating with the Corporate Finance Functions—identifying key financial risks and opportunities related to the transaction. - Maintain a good understanding of transaction documents, impact of negotiations on potential financial risk to the business, and ability to articulate internally. - Communicate key operating and valuation drivers to senior leadership, highlighting the overall impact on the enterprise. - Own the preparation of financial schedules included in M&A to Senior Leadership and Board of Directors. - Review valuation analysis for capital deployment developed by the business and assist in the preparation of capital presentations for Senior Leadership and Board. - Develop relationships with relevant internal stakeholders across the enterprise, including business units, corporate development, and other corporate functions. - Perform other ad hoc analysis, as needed. Critical Skills - Relevant degree; typically requires 10 years of experience, with 5+ years in Valuation, M&A, and transaction advisory experience. - Capability to coordinate multiple projects simultaneously with minimal direction, interact with business units throughout the organization, and present results and status of various deals effectively to senior leadership. - Ability to successfully collaborate with key stakeholders across functional areas; must be a problem solver, persistent, and goal-oriented. - Financial reporting knowledge including: income statement, balance sheet, cash flow statement, net working capital, and capital expenditures. - Exceptional financial modeling skills including: weighted average cost of capital (WACC) calculation, discounted cash flow modeling, market multiple analysis, leveraged buyout analysis, and other valuation-related methodologies. - Exceptional communication skills (clear and concise communication to senior leadership). - Written communication skills and the ability to concisely summarize key trends and analyses to management and other key stakeholders. - Excellent PC skills with a solid working knowledge of Excel and PowerPoint. - Preference for experience using Capital IQ. Compensation Compensation will vary based on geographic location. The posted range is for the Dallas area, with a target mid-range of $156,300 - $260,500. McKesson offers a competitive compensation package as part of our Total Rewards, determined by several factors including performance, experience and skills, equity, regular job market evaluations, and geographical markets. In addition to base pay, other compensation, such as an annual bonus or long-term incentive opportunities may be offered.
