Horizen Labs
Who We Are: Horizen Labs is pioneering privacy-focused, zero-knowledge technology that powers a more secure and interconnected digital world. Founded in 2019, we're at the intersection of research, protocol development, and ecosystem growth, enabling scalable, verifiable solutions through platforms like zkVerify and Horizen. From high-impact projects like ApeChain to a specialized consulting arm in zero-knowledge ecosystems, we are a global team united in transforming the landscape of Web3 and digital trust. Join our team in New York, Milan, and remotely to help redefine what's possible in the decentralized world. At Horizen Labs, our people are our greatest asset, and we are creating a culture of empowered individuals who are eager to bring their ideas to life. We believe diversity drives the innovation and engagement necessary to build a truly remarkable product. We operate on a hybrid model with a distributed global workforce who works in partnership with our satellite offices in New York City, NY and Milan, Italy. Are you ready to help us change the future with the next cutting-edge blockchain technology? Join us! The Role We are seeking a Developer Relations Engineer to grow and support Horizen’s global developer ecosystem. This role blends hands-on technical integration support, developer education, documentation ownership, and ecosystem evangelism. You will act as a direct support to developers building on Horizen, helping to ensure they have the clarity, tools, and support they need to successfully integrate privacy technologies and solutions and to deploy and scale their applications on the Horizen network. The ideal candidate has experience as a blockchain application developer (EVM, Solidity, and related technologies) and is particularly experienced with a variety of privacy technologies such as trusted execution environments (TEE’s) and zero-knowledge proofs. Interest or experience in AI/agentic tools and technologies is also preferred. We seek candidates with a high degree of self-motivation and agency – able to take strategic direction and translate it directly into plans and action in support of goals and desired outcomes. Ideal candidates are equally comfortable doing solo asynchronous work such as production of developer documentation, articles, resources, and how-to guides, as well as collaborative work such as hands-on developer support and educational programming including remote and in-person workshops and hackathons. *Note this is a full-time contract position with Horizen Foundation, a client of Horizen Labs What You’ll Own Developer Documentation & Learning Resources A key part of this role will be taking ownership of Horizen’s developer documentation and resources, adding to their depth and breadth, and improving structure, clarity, and accessibility so that developers of all experience levels can easily build within the ecosystem. Improve, expand, and maintain technical docs, tutorials, and guides for developers building on Horizen. Produce example code, walkthroughs, and educational materials that lower the barrier to entry for new builders as well as more experienced developers. Work closely with other stakeholders to ensure documentation and resources accurately reflect current capabilities and roadmap. Technical Integration & Support Provide hands-on guidance to developers and ecosystem partners building on Horizen. Support ecosystem and grant projects to ensure successful integration and delivery. Gather feedback from developers and relay actionable insights to internal teams to improve tooling, resources, and developer experience. Partnerships & Advocacy Work with business development and ecosystem teams to support strategic partnerships. Advocate internally for developer needs, contributing to product and roadmap discussions. Build relationships with developer groups, universities, and training organizations. Community Building & Evangelism Drive awareness and adoption of Horizen within global developer communities. Create and deliver presentations, workshops, and technical content to educate and engage builders. Contribute to marketing efforts and content production alongside other team members. Represent Horizen at hackathons, meetups, conferences, and online events. Evangelize Horizen’s privacy-preserving technologies and explain their real-world application to developers and partners.
