• Maintaining and supervising a heavy & diversified caseload of the Firm’s clients in **South Dakota** • Communicating with clients regarding their respective matters. • Drafting pleadings, motions, legal memoranda, reviewing & drafting agreements, etc. • Communicating with opposing parties to resolve/settle claims. • Legal research related to simple and complex issues in contract law and other areas of consumer law. • While this role is based from home, you may be required to travel for in court appearances.

Job Requirements

  • Must be currently admitted to practice law in **South Dakota**
  • Minimum of 1 year of relevant experience at a law firm
  • Must possess superior organizational & time-management skills to meet strict deadlines
  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills
  • Highest ethical standards and professional integrity
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work easily with senior management and employees at all levels throughout the organization
  • Strong legal research skills -- proficiency in LexisNexis is a plus

Role Description - You will support our Chief Legal Counsel with the drafting, review, and management of a wide range of commercial contracts across the group. - You will help build out and maintain our contract management processes, including our DocuSign template automation. - You will support regulatory and compliance topics, including data protection (GDPR) and other requirements relevant to our banking and insurance partnerships. - You will assist with corporate housekeeping and legal projects tied to our ongoing group integration. - You will act as a first point of contact for routine legal questions from internal teams, translating legal considerations into clear, practical guidance. - You will liaise with external counsel and support on active legal matters. You will work on property damage recoveries arising from a wide range of perils, including: - Fire - Flood - Escape of water - Oil spills - Impact damage - Construction defects - Other complex loss events The role will provide exposure to complex liability, causation and quantum issues, with regular involvement in matters requiring expert evidence, forensic investigations and strategic recovery litigation.
