Key Responsibilities - Website & Digital Experience Design - Create and review high-quality website concepts for technology companies, global brands, startups, and cultural institutions. - Develop polished digital experiences across marketing sites, editorial platforms, web products, and interactive environments. - Apply strong visual hierarchy, typography, layout, and composition principles. - Ensure design decisions support both brand expression and user experience goals. - UX/UI & Responsive Design - Evaluate user journeys, navigation structures, interface patterns, and interaction flows. - Design responsive experiences that perform effectively across desktop, tablet, and mobile environments. - Apply modern UX/UI principles to improve usability, accessibility, clarity, and engagement. - Review digital interfaces for consistency, coherence, and alignment with contemporary web standards. - Design Systems & Production Quality - Develop and assess reusable components, layout systems, interface patterns, and visual guidelines. - Review design work for scalability, consistency, responsiveness, and implementation readiness. - Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to support polished, production-ready digital experiences. - Identify visual, structural, and interaction issues that may affect quality or usability. - Design Evaluation & Expert Review - Create, review, and evaluate high-quality website design examples and digital experience scenarios. - Assess work for visual execution, usability, interaction quality, originality, and professional polish. - Provide structured feedback explaining strengths, weaknesses, and opportunities for improvement. - Apply consistent evaluation standards across different website types, industries, and design approaches. Qualifications - A proven portfolio demonstrating excellence in website and digital experience design. - Professional experience in UX/UI, responsive web design, interactive design, or digital product design. - Experience creating websites for leading brands, technology companies, startups, or cultural organisations. - Strong understanding of typography, layout, visual hierarchy, interaction, and contemporary design systems. - Ability to critically assess the quality, usability, and visual execution of modern websites. - Experience collaborating with strategists, developers, writers, researchers, and other design professionals. - Availability to contribute up to 40 hours per week depending on project scope. - Current residence and right to work in the United Kingdom. Requirements - A degree in graphic design, interaction design, communication design, digital media, UX design, or a related creative field is helpful. - Professional experience at a respected digital design studio, creative agency, product company, or consultancy is highly relevant. - Equivalent portfolio-based expertise in website and digital experience design may also be considered. - Advanced training in user experience, interaction design, visual communication, or digital product development may be valuable.
