Job Description

Payroll Operations Manager

B Consulting

• Own full-cycle U.S. and international payroll processing across multiple clients, including international payrolls managed through EOR providers • Serve as the internal payroll subject matter expert, partnering closely with HR and Accounting/Finance client leads to support payroll operations across the client portfolio • Manage payroll platforms including Gusto, Justworks, Rippling, ADP, TriNet, Deel, or similar systems • Ensure accurate processing of wages, bonuses, commissions, and deductions • Manage multi-state payroll compliance, tax filings, and year-end reporting (W-2s, 1099s) • Reconcile payroll reports, benefit invoices, and payroll-related GL accounts • Partner with accounting teams to support month-end close activities, including payroll accruals and related reporting • Support payroll-related equity compensation processing, including tax withholding and reporting for employee stock programs • Support payroll setup and termination processing for new hires and departing employees, including prorated pay, final pay, and payroll deductions • Coordinate payroll-related benefits deductions and ensure accurate employee and employer contribution processing for medical, dental, vision, and 401(k) plans • Maintain payroll procedures, internal controls, and process improvements to support scalable payroll operations

Job Requirements

  • 5+ years of U.S. payroll experience, including multi-state payroll
  • Strong knowledge of payroll taxes, wage laws, and compliance requirements
  • Experience with payroll systems (Gusto, Justworks, Rippling, Deel, Sequoia One or similar)
  • Advanced Excel skills (lookups, pivots, data validation, reconciliation workflows)
  • Proven experience with payroll reconciliations and audit support
  • Experience supporting payroll operations across multiple clients, entities, or business units
  • High attention to detail and accuracy
  • Experience managing international payrolls through EOR platforms such as Deel or Remote
  • Excellent organizational and client communication skills
