• Develop the existing business & meet annual revenue growth targets • Serve as the lead point of contact for all customer account management matters • Build and maintain strong, long-lasting client relationships • Negotiate contracts and close agreements to maximize profits • Develop trusted advisor relationships with key accounts, customer stakeholders and executive sponsors • Lead, coach and develop a small team of Account Managers, setting clear objectives and supporting their professional growth • Own the strategic account plan for a portfolio of large, complex accounts, aligning delivery, sales and senior leadership around a shared growth strategy • Act as a senior escalation point for the account team on complex client, commercial or delivery issues • Work jointly with delivery counterparts and ensure value is being delivered to the customer • Ensure the timely and successful delivery of our solutions according to customer needs and objectives • Clearly communicate the progress of monthly/quarterly initiatives to internal and external stakeholders • Develop new business with existing clients and/or identify areas of improvement to meet sales quotas • Forecast and track key account metrics (e.g. quarterly sales results and annual forecasts) • Prepare reports on account status • Collaborate with sales team to identify and grow opportunities within territory • Assist with challenging client requests or issue escalations as needed
Job Requirements
- Significant experience (typically 8+ years) in a customer facing account management role, including managing large, complex accounts or portfolios
- Strong client relationship management experience particularly with senior and C-suite/executive stakeholders
- Proven experience leading, coaching and developing a team, whether through direct line management or dotted-line/matrix leadership
- Track record of owning revenue and growth targets across a large or complex account portfolio
- Good understanding of today’s digital, AI & software development landscape and must be able to bring value to the customer
- Experience in understanding software development requirements and having the ability to develop, along with the help of pre-sales, winning IT proposals
- Must have very strong listening and presentation skills
- Experience working with & understanding of commercial contracts
- Successful experience in RFP responses and successful sales pitches
- Ability to work collaboratively with project managers, technical engineers and architects to provide customers with solutions
- Ability to travel to client site
- Knowledge & experience of using a CRM
- Be willing to learn new techniques and follow account management standards
- Be able to leverage AI to help with account growth
