As a ServiceNow Developer Sr Principal, the work you’ll do at GDIT will be impactful to the mission of our customers. You will play a crucial role via the following: - Architect and automate enterprise IT Asset Management (ITAM) and Configuration Management Database (CMDB) capabilities - Design and configure Software Asset Management (SAM) and Hardware Asset Management (HAM) workflows, including license entitlements, software models, normalization, reclamation, and lifecycle management - Align platform architecture with the Common Service Data Model (CSDM) - Maintain CMDB health by configuring Data Certification, Discovery, Reconciliation, and Health Assessments - Architect customized scripts, Script Includes, Business Rules, Flow Designer, and Service Portal widgets to support ITAM operational requirements - Design and build integrations between ServiceNow and external data sources (e.g., SCCM, Jamf, Intune, Active Directory, Coupa) using IntegrationHub, REST/SOAP APIs, and MID Server configurations - Establish robust data governance policies for hardware and software assets, ensuring audit-readiness and adherence to industry licensing models - Design, configure, and customize ServiceNow applications using JavaScript, Glide API, business rules, client scripts, and Flow Designer to meet specific business needs - Lead or support the implementation and optimization of core SPM modules, including Demand Management, Project Portfolio Management (PPM), Resource Management, and Financial Planning - Work closely with stakeholders, product owners, and cross-functional teams to gather requirements and translate them into technical specifications - Create and maintain detailed technical and functional documentation and support platform upgrade activities, including testing and reconfiguration - Contribute to IT-related technical processes reviews, postmortems, and continual process improvement - Create estimations on effort required to produce ServiceNow functionality - Provide technical guidance, perform code reviews, create architectural documentation, and mentor junior developers to ensure adherence to best practices - Maintain current ServiceNow and industry certifications, while obtaining additional certifications Qualifications - Education: Technical Training, Certification(s) or Degree - Experience: 8+ years of related experience - Required Skills: - Expert proficiency in ServiceNow CMDB and ITAM, including SAM and HAM - Expertise in designing, implementing, and optimizing SAM, HAM, and CSDM structures to ensure compliance, accurate lifecycle tracking, and cost optimization - Demonstrated experience with full-cycle SAM and/or HAM implementations - Deep understanding of software licensing metrics and physical hardware asset lifecycles from procurement to disposal - Experience in ServiceNow platform architecture, Flow Designer, and Integration Hub - Proficiency in JavaScript, AngularJS, JSON, and REST/SOAP web services - Experience with ServiceNow Discovery, Service Mapping, and Performance Analytic - Experience with other ServiceNow modules like ITSM or ITOM - Ability to analyze requirements, troubleshoot issues, and develop effective technical solutions - Excellent understanding of the Agile software testing process and lifecycle, from smoke test to integration to production deployment - Ability to identify, understand, document, and create functionality aligning with customer value streams - Ability to produce level of estimates and basic deployment plans for ServiceNow functionality - Strong organizational and time management skills while working in a rapid software development environment - Ability to identify and learn new technologies quickly - Excellent communication skills for collaborating with both technical and non-technical stakeholders - Strong analytical, problem-solving, and debugging skills - Ability to coach, guide, and mentor junior developers - Certification(s): Required: ServiceNow Certified Systems Administrator - Security Clearance Level: Must possess and maintain a Secret or higher clearance - US Citizenship Required - Location: Remote Benefits - AI-powered career tool that identifies career steps and learning opportunities - An internal mobility team focused on helping you achieve your career goals - Comprehensive benefits and wellness packages, 401K with company match, and competitive pay and paid time off - Full-flex work week to own your priorities at work and at home - Award-winning culture of innovation and a military-friendly workplace
