Job Description

Project Manager – Strategic Enterprise Solutions

Convergint

• Manages all aspects of assigned projects (typically valued up to $1M) from award through completion, including site management, budgeting, scheduling, and execution • Serves as the primary point of contact for customers, ensuring high levels of satisfaction, safety, and quality assurance throughout the project lifecycle • Collaborates with local Convergint Project Managers, Customers, and Program Managers to align on project goals and support execution • Develops and manages project installation plans in coordination with local teams • Maintains accurate records of job status, material flow, change orders, and other documentation • Identifies project risks and implements strategies to mitigate them • Partners with technical subject matter experts to create necessary project documentation, including runbooks and execution plans • Oversees project financials, including budgeting, forecasting, and resource planning • Regularly communicates project progress, schedules, and changes to stakeholders

Job Requirements

  • College degree, trade school or equivalent experience
  • Associates degree in Engineering or related field
  • 3 years relevant engineering, field service or project management
  • Project Management Institute (PMI) certification; industry-specific certifications and/or licenses; must have valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
  • Experience in 1 or more of the following industries: electronic, fire alarm & life safety, building automation and/or AV systems
  • Coaching, mentoring, and staff development skills; solid leadership orientation
  • Team leadership, team building and facilitation skills
  • Shows initiative – engages in proactive behavior and looks for opportunities
  • Adaptable – responds effectively to changes in situation or information
  • Strong analytical skills necessary to resolve problems and look for solutions
  • Financial analytical skills including cost control
  • Basic ability to facilitate a collaborative working environment for customers and team members
  • Basic Microsoft Outlook, Project, Excel, Word and Power Point skills
  • Basic knowledge and understanding of IT networking principles
