Assistant Environmental Specialist, Level 3
GAI Consultants, Inc.
• Conduct stormwater and other regulated waters compliance monitoring field assessments including erosion and sediment control inspection • Assist in the compilation of data and preparation of weekly reports and permitting documents as directed by Task Managers and Project Managers • Complete construction inspections, erosion control monitoring, and environmental marking and staking • Assist with field data collection and wetland delineations • Must be willing to work flexible hours and overtime • Receive technical training for career enhancement • Other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Natural Resource Ecology, Engineering, Biology, or Environmental Science; advanced degree a plus.
- 3-4 years of experience commensurate with environmental consulting practices with a background in environmental science, ecology, or construction inspection services.
- Advanced technical writing ability.
- Strong interpersonal and organizational skills a must.
- Travel within Ohio, Indiana, and Kentucky is a requirement and extended field assignments are likely.
- Technical knowledge of natural resources and field assessment methods.
- Knowledge and experience with erosion and sedimentation control monitoring and construction inspections on linear projects is preferred.
- Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
- A current Driver's License is required.
