• As a Mid-level SQL Server DBA, you will configure and maintain environments with AlwaysOn Availability Groups, Failover Cluster Instances (FCI), Log Shipping and Replication; • Identify I/O, CPU and memory bottlenecks; • Analyze execution plans (Execution Plans), identify unnecessary Index Scans, design efficient indexing strategies and resolve deadlocks and lock escalation issues; • Ensure the backup policy (Full, Differential, Transaction Log) meets the business RTO (Recovery Time Objective) and RPO (Recovery Point Objective), and regularly test and validate restores; • Have a deep understanding of how queries work to help the development team optimize code, stored procedures and triggers; • Troubleshoot quickly using tools such as Extended Events, Query Store, DMVs (Dynamic Management Views) or Profiler; • Analyze data growth trends, plan capacity and recommend infrastructure upgrades or historical data archiving; • Use PowerShell or T-SQL scripts to automate repetitive tasks (such as integrity checks with dbatools/DBCC CHECKDB and reindexing). • Manage SQL Server environments • Plan and execute: • Backup and restore strategies • Index and statistics maintenance plans • Installation and configuration of SQL Server • Administer security: • Object-level permissions • Principle of least privilege • Basic encryption (TDE, encrypted backups) • Perform performance analysis and troubleshooting • Use Query Store to: • Identify plan regressions • Force plans when necessary • Use Profiler and Extended Events for troubleshooting • Replication: • Transactional replication • Snapshot replication • Bi-directional replication • Support database architecture improvements • Work closely with development teams

Role Description The Coordinator, Database Systems Support – Bilingual Spanish (Internal title: Coordinator, Research, Evaluation and Learning) is responsible for supporting the administration and optimization of the case management database system used across the Covenant House federation to collect, manage, and analyze program data. This role plays a critical part in advancing Covenant House International’s commitment to becoming a data-informed Learning Organization that achieves positive outcomes for and with young people experiencing homelessness and human trafficking. In this role, you will report directly to the Manager of Database Administration and Support. You will support CHI and site teams’ efforts to improve their use of the database system, troubleshoot issues, develop standardized data collection practices, and ensure data quality to effectively use data to improve outcomes for youth and contribute to collective impact across the federation.
