Role Description Paralegal Specialist I shall provide litigation support and claims analysis to the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ), Office of Justice Programs (OJP), Bureau of Justice Assistance (BJA), Public Safety Officers' Benefits (PSOB) Program. Supports Benefits Specialists and Government personnel by: - Reviewing claims - Analyzing supporting documentation - Preparing case materials - Tracking appeals - Assisting with the administration of federal death, disability, and educational assistance benefits Qualifications - Associate's Degree or equivalent; Bachelor's Degree preferred - Minimum two (2) years of benefits/claims experience or two (2) years of paralegal experience - Experience preparing legal or administrative documents - Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, and Outlook - Strong organizational and analytical skills - Ability to obtain and maintain Public Trust (Minimum Background Investigation) - Must be a U.S. citizen Requirements - Knowledge of legal research and document review practices - Ability to analyze complex documentation and identify issues - Strong written and verbal communication skills - Excellent organizational and recordkeeping abilities - Ability to manage multiple priorities - Strong Microsoft Excel skills - Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information - Ability to work independently and collaboratively Benefits - Rate: $34 - $38 per hour - Work Schedule: Monday through Friday (Dayshift Hours)
