Edgewater Federal Solutions is seeking a Data Center Virtual System Administrator to support a major national laboratory. The successful candidate will provide comprehensive support across all dimensions of the Data Center environment. Deliver Level I and/or Level II technical support to server technicians, network administrators, and support personnel for various systems, including cabling, power management, space planning, and cooling management in a large and complex Data Center setting. Troubleshoot complex problems that span multiple subsystems and systems, requiring in-depth knowledge of the sophisticated Data Center environment. Have a strong background in IT and High-Performance Computing (HPC) infrastructure, with a solid understanding of cooling, heat transfer, fluid mechanics, and chemical analysis for both open and closed-loop water systems. Collaborative on data center consolidation efforts, engaging with customers to evaluate, design, and plan consolidation activities as needed. Develop innovative solutions to significant and unusual problems, applying new principles, concepts, and practices to address complex or strategic issues. Be a resource to executive management providing analysis of information, trends, and goals at a corporate level, contributing to the overall success and efficiency of the Data Center operations.

Job Requirements

  • BS in relevant discipline plus minimum 2 years or more years of directly related experience that demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and ability to perform the duties of the job.
  • Active DOE Q Clearance.
  • Must be US Citizen.
  • Technical knowledge in virtualization technologies and data center operations.
  • Troubleshoot issues that arise in a virtual environment.
