The Services EPM Field Application Engineer for ABB will provide technical support to the Core Commercial Solutions team in the development of field services proposals for power delivery, power utilization and automation equipment and systems. In this role you will identify and propose value-added service solutions targeting commercial and light industrial market segments with an emphasis on multi-site / enterprise customers. Specific solutions include: - Maintenance programs - Power Distribution upgrades / additions - Relay upgrades - Arc Flash Mitigation Solutions In this fast-paced, customer-facing role, you will require strong field service technical skills and highly effective communication skills. The successful candidate will work closely with both the sales team and operations to ensure we are delivering engineered solutions that are technically compliant and commercially viable. The expected travel for this role is 50% regionally. Qualifications - Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering from an accredited college or university OR a High School Diploma / GED with a minimum of 10 years of experience with the application of Power Distribution upgrades, Relay upgrades, and Arc Flash Mitigation Solutions. - Minimum of 7 years of experience in application engineering or field engineering in power delivery products and systems including a minimum of 5 years of experience working with customers in the oil & gas, metals, mining, paper, power generation, data center, commercial building or similar business segments. - Legal authorization to work in the U.S. is required. We will not sponsor individuals for employment visas, now or in the future, for this job opening. - Prior experience working with electrical contractors and/or understanding electrical contractor costing methodology. - Prior experience with customer specifications review, proposal development, and contract development and negotiations. - Prior experience in developing and writing specifications and proposals. - Ability to bring an innovative approach to complicated problem solving. - Strong customer mindset. Requirements - Ability and willingness to travel 50% of the time within region. Salaried exempt positions are provided vacation under a permissive time away policy. - This position is expected to pay between $83,300 and $133,280 annually and is bonus eligible.
