Operations and Logistics Support Specialist
Marcus Food Company
Role Description The operations support specialist will work closely with Operations teams to execute customer orders. This role supports the logistics, customer support, and claims teams in both administrative and customer-facing capacities. The initial focus for this role will be on logistics: - Ensuring compliance with shipping and delivery schedules that meet vendors' and customers’ needs. - Collaborating with sales and procurement to provide visibility. - Cross-training as needed to support the ongoing growth, development, and priorities of the operations team. The Operations Support Specialist will report directly to the Logistics and Claims manager. Outcomes - A dynamic and versatile operations support team that is well-staged to support organizational sales growth. - Greater flexibility of the operations team to support one another’s areas of responsibility. Key Responsibilities (Domestic Logistics - 1st 90 days minimum) - Procure quotes, book, manage, and maintain records for freight and cold storage partners supporting product delivery and storage. - Review and ensure the accuracy of purchase orders and shipping details. - Manage freight contacts and cold storage to ensure accurate product shipping and timely arrival. - Ensure compliance with all state and federal regulations on the shipping of specific products. - Manage and organize compliance documentation, delivering to the appropriate parties and storing it internally. - Track, gather, and analyze all documentation related to shipping, billing, and product claims. - Remain on-call to the sales and procurement team to update, troubleshoot issues with, advise on, or otherwise support their orders. - Respond to customer inquiries and deliver a high level of professional customer service in all interactions.
