• Design, develop, and maintain applications using AS/400 (IBM i) and RPGLE programming • Drive IBM i modernization initiatives by championing modern development tooling (VS Code with Code for IBM i, RPG/CLP editing) in place of traditional green-screen tools • Integrating AI-assisted development practices where applicable • Migrating source code management to Git/GitHub to support version control, branching, and collaborative development workflows on the AS/400 platform • Develop and support database solutions using MS-Access and OpenEdge Progress • Create and maintain Visual Basic applications and integrations • Work directly with business users to gather requirements, provide solutions, and deliver technical support • Troubleshoot and resolve application issues with minimal supervision • Perform system administration tasks in Linux environments • Document technical specifications and maintain code repositories
Job Requirements
- 5-7 years of relevant experience
- Strong proficiency in AS/400 (IBM i) and RPGLE programming
- Strong SQL knowledge including query optimization, stored procedures, and database design.
- Experience with MS-Access database development and management
- Working knowledge of Visual Basic for application development
- Hands-on experience with OpenEdge Progress database and 4GL
- Solid understanding of Linux operating systems
- Excellent communication skills with ability to translate technical concepts for business users
