Job Requirements
- Experience early in your career at a top-tier law firm, ideally in a corporate practice
- Deep experience in healthcare, either as counsel to healthtech companies or in-house at a healthcare or healthtech business
- A practical, business-minded approach to legal work
- Strong judgment and the ability to balance risk, speed, and company priorities
- Comfort working independently and owning complex legal matters from start to finish
- Experience managing outside counsel and driving important workstreams forward without close oversight
- Excitement about building systems, processes, and a function from the ground up
- Bonus points for: Experience being an early legal hire at a startup or scaling company, Familiarity with insurance billing, healthcare regulatory frameworks, and approval processes, Experience helping a company grow through new markets, products, or operational complexity

Role Description The Legal Entity Controller, North America is responsible for the timely and accurate delivery of financial reporting, monthly close activities, balance sheet integrity, and compliance with IFRS, internal controls, and local statutory requirements. This role partners closely with Finance Shared Services, FP&A, Operations, Tax, Treasury, and business stakeholders to ensure accurate financial results and continuous process improvement. Key Responsibilities: - Financial Close & Reporting: - Own the legal entity close process and ensure timely, accurate financial reporting for the US and Canada Legal Entities. - Review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in coordination with Financial Shared Services (FSS). - Ensure compliance with IFRS/US GAAP, local statutory requirements, and company accounting policies. - Perform analytical reviews of P&L and Balance Sheet accounts, including variance analysis. - Oversee & execute accruals, provisions, journal entries, and balance sheet reconciliations. - Coordinate financial sign-offs and reporting deliverables. - Governance, Controls & Compliance: - Ensure compliance with statutory, tax, regulatory, and internal control requirements, and support ICFR compliance. - Coordinate internal and external audits and resolve audit findings. - Identify and mitigate financial and operational risks impacting legal entities. - Oversight of Financial Shared Services: - Monitor quality and integrity of accounting processes performed by shared services. - Resolve accounting and process issues impacting financial reporting. - Drive standardization, process improvements, and automation initiatives. - Accounting Advisory & Business Partnership: - Serve as the primary accounting advisor to Business Controllers and Operations Controllers, providing guidance on accounting treatment. - Support business initiatives, restructuring, and finance transformation activities. - Balance Sheet & Intercompany Management: - Maintain strong balance sheet governance and resolve aged or unreconciled items timely. - Oversee inventory, fixed assets, reserves, and intercompany accounting activities. - Ensure intercompany reconciliations and reporting are completed accurately and on time. - Systems & Continuous Improvement: - Support ERP governance, including SAP FiCo or equivalent systems. - Lead or support process improvement, system implementation, and transformation projects. - Maintain documentation of accounting processes, controls, and key policies. - Leadership & Influence: - Act as a senior accounting subject matter expert within the organization and provide technical accounting guidance. - Influence stakeholders and drive accountability across a matrixed organization without direct authority.
