Role Description Leidos is seeking an Architect to join the National Airspace System Integration Support Contract (NISC IV) team. In this role you will support the Federal Aviation Administration's (FAA) Eastern Service Area (ESA) to lead space planning and architectural design for government and institutional facilities. The projects support air traffic control facilities over the geographic scope of the ESA. This position is fully remote - you must live in the Eastern part of the US. Up to 25% travel. - Lead space planning and architectural design for government and institutional facilities, ensuring layouts meet FAA regulations and efficiently accommodate functional requirements. - Develop conceptual, schematic, design development, and construction drawings that incorporate NFPA 101 Life Safety Code and applicable accessibility standards (e.g., ADA). - Coordinate with civil, structural, mechanical, electrical, and specialty consultants to integrate architectural layouts and systems within complex, multi-discipline projects. - Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local building codes, accessibility requirements, and agency-specific design criteria for public-sector facilities. - Conduct detailed space programming, circulation analysis, and occupant load planning to optimize functionality, safety, and operational efficiency. - Use specialized architectural and design software (e.g., Revit, AutoCAD, SketchUp, Rhino, and BIM coordination tools) to develop floor plans, 3D models, and visualizations. - Utilize cost estimating and quantity takeoff tools (e.g., RSMeans, Bluebeam, BIM-based takeoffs) to support budgeting, value engineering, and public funding approvals. - Support construction administration through submittal reviews, RFIs, site observations, code compliance verification, and design clarifications to ensure construction aligns with NFPA 101, accessibility, and GSA requirements. Qualifications - Architecture Degree from an accredited College/University. - 8+ years of design experience with commercial, industrial and/or government facilities. - Experience in evaluating building enclosures including roofing and below-grade waterproofing. - Experience including design, failure analysis and Enclosure Commissioning activities. - Ability to obtain and maintain Public Trust Suitability. Requirements - Must live in the Eastern part of the US. - Up to 25% travel.
