Role Description We are looking for an experienced Senior Australian Tax & Business Advisory Accountant to join our growing offshore team supporting Australian clients. This role offers the opportunity to work across both tax compliance and business advisory, with a strong focus on developing into a senior technical and strategic advisor. Key Responsibilities - Compliance - Prepare financial statements and tax returns for individuals, companies, trusts, and partnerships - Prepare and review BAS - Provide GST advice - Conduct payroll reviews (limited) - Handle Division 7A matters - Prepare Capital Gains Tax (CGT) calculations - Manage Fringe Benefits Tax (FBT) requirements - Process trust distributions - Prepare estate accounting - Complete annual company minutes - Advisory - Tax planning - Budgeting and forecasting - Cashflow analysis - Business structuring - Personal Services Income (PSI) advice - Prepare written taxation advice - Conduct technical tax research - Manage ATO correspondence - Prepare client briefing papers - Create meeting agendas and minutes - Client Communication - Respond to technical client queries - Draft professional client emails - Request additional information when required - Communicate directly with clients once authorised - Escalate strategic matters appropriately Qualifications - Minimum 5 years of Australian accounting and taxation experience - Strong knowledge of Australian taxation across individuals, companies, trusts, and partnerships - Advanced technical expertise in: - Capital Gains Tax (CGT) - Division 7A - Fringe Benefits Tax (FBT) - GST - Tax planning - Business structures - Excellent written and verbal English communication skills - Proficiency with: - Xero - Xero Tax - Xero Practice Manager - Microsoft Office - Previous experience with a Big 4 or reputable Mid-Tier accounting firm is highly preferred Benefits - Work remotely with Australian clients - Be part of a collaborative and supportive team - Gain exposure to both compliance and advisory work - Opportunity to grow into a senior technical and leadership position - Long-term career growth in Australian public practice
