Recruitment Business Developer – Engineering, Manufacturing
Remote Recruitment
• Identify and approach new clients across the UK engineering and manufacturing sectors. • Generate new business opportunities through proactive outbound calls, emails, LinkedIn outreach, and targeted campaigns. • Open new accounts and territories within design engineering, project engineering, and related technical markets. • Build relationships with hiring managers, business owners, and senior decision-makers. • Qualify job briefs effectively, understanding the technical requirements and commercial opportunity. • Introduce the company’s recruitment services to prospective clients and position the business as a specialist recruitment partner. • Maintain accurate records of client conversations, pipeline activity, and business development progress. • Use recruitment tools such as campaign platforms, market mapping software, phone systems, LinkedIn Recruiter or Sales Navigator, and leading job boards to support outreach and market research. • Work closely with the leadership team to develop target lists, campaign strategies, and account development plans. • Support with candidate resourcing where required, although the main focus of the role will be business development and new client acquisition. • Consistently work towards revenue, meeting, and new business targets.
Job Requirements
- Previous recruitment experience is essential, ideally within engineering, manufacturing, technical, or IT recruitment.
- Experience in engineering or manufacturing recruitment would be highly advantageous.
- Strong business development experience, with a proven ability to generate leads, book meetings, and win new clients.
- A phone-first approach with the confidence to make regular outbound calls.
- Strong resilience, tenacity, and comfort with rejection.
- Commercially motivated, target-driven, and eager to maximise earnings through performance.
- Ability to understand technical roles, client requirements, and how products, projects, or engineering teams operate.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage a sales pipeline effectively.
- Comfortable using recruitment technology, CRM systems, LinkedIn, job boards, and outreach tools.
- Must have access to a reliable laptop, stable high-speed internet, and a quiet professional working environment.
