Role Description Experienced Lead Systems Engineer and Microsoft 365 specialist, skilled in Exchange Online, Teams, hybrid messaging, SMTP routing, mail flow, and enterprise email security. Demonstrated success designing and optimizing global collaboration platforms, training technical teams, and advancing engineering standards. Seeking a Lead Engineer to manage and evolve a large-scale hybrid messaging ecosystem across Microsoft 365, Exchange Online, SMTP routing, email security, and Linux-based mail infrastructure. - Own and lead the design, engineering, and operation of Microsoft 365 collaboration platforms (Exchange Online, Teams, Collaboration Services). - Oversee Hybrid Exchange Architecture, integrating on-premises systems with Microsoft 365 cloud solutions. - Own and manage SMTP routing and relay architecture, ensuring proper configuration and operation. - Administer email authentication protocols such as SPF, DKIM, and DMARC to enhance security and trustworthiness of email communications. - Engineer and operate Proofpoint and Cisco IronPort gateways to maintain secure and efficient email traffic. - Support Linux mail systems including Postfix, Sendmail, Exim, and Zimbra/Zextras, ensuring their stability and reliability. - Administer Zimbra/Zextras (Carbonio Suite) environments for additional mail system functionality. - Integrate identity management systems such as Entra ID and apply Conditional Access policies to ensure secure user authentication. - Develop and implement PowerShell automation and scripting solutions to streamline platform operations and management. - Serve as the senior technical authority (L3/L4 Subject Matter Expert) for global messaging architecture, guiding system design and troubleshooting. - Lead resolution of complex issues related to mail flow, delivery, and security, ensuring reliable messaging infrastructure. - Develop PowerShell scripts and automation tools to improve and maintain operational efficiency across platforms. - Lead and mentor a team of engineers, providing guidance, expertise, and support to enhance team performance and capabilities. Qualifications - 5+ years experience managing enterprise grade collaboration systems. - Bachelors degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience. - Microsoft 365 / Exchange Certifications (desirable).
