Role Description Behind every state we launch is a mountain of data—parcels, school ratings, transit, flood zones, crime indicators, and dozens of state-specific layers—that has to be found, understood, and brought into our platform before scoring can happen. Much of it doesn't come with a clean download button. It lives in undocumented municipal portals, inconsistent county feeds, and sources where the only "API" is whatever an embedded map happens to call. We are looking for someone who finds that kind of source irresistible—part data detective, part engineer, part problem solver—who can track down hard-to-find data, get meaningful information out of it, and turn it into something our platform can rely on. You'll be the technical right hand to our implementation team: they know what each state's scoring needs, and you figure out how to get it and make it real. This role is ideal for someone who likes end-to-end ownership, technical problem solving, and visible impact. What You Will Do - Source Discovery & Data Acquisition (40%) - Track down the external data our scoring needs—including poorly documented, inconsistent, or hard-to-access sources—and confirm you can reliably get usable data out of them. - Reverse-engineer undocumented portals, APIs, and feeds to extract meaningful data. - Evaluate new and existing sources for coverage, quality, and fit against each state's requirements and scoring criteria. - Data Wrangling & Integration (30%) - Figure out how messy, real-world data has to be reshaped to be useful, and get it into our platform in a form scoring can trust. - Work with varied formats (shapefiles, GeoJSON, CSVs, county/state feeds) and reproject spatial data correctly across coordinate systems. - Load, structure, and index geospatial and tabular data in PostgreSQL/PostGIS using our internal tooling and scripts (Node.js, Bash, SQL). - Reproducibility & Maintenance (15%) - Make every data pull repeatable—a re-runnable path to refresh each source on its cadence, not a one-time extraction only you know how to repeat. - Monitor upstream sources for format or schema changes and update pulls before they break a launch. - Validation & QA (15%) - Validate spatial and tabular data beyond row counts—geometry validity, topology, and coverage gaps—to ensure accuracy before it reaches scoring. - Document where each dataset lives, how it was sourced, and how to refresh it. Qualifications - A track record of getting data out of difficult, poorly documented sources—you've reverse-engineered an undocumented endpoint, scraped a stubborn portal, or wrangled a malformed feed into something clean, and you find that kind of puzzle satisfying rather than frustrating. - Solid working proficiency with PostGIS—reprojecting between coordinate systems, validating and repairing geometry, spatial indexing, and spatial joins. You don't need to be a GIS specialist, but you're well past "I've used ST_Intersects." - Strong SQL skills (PostgreSQL) with the ability to write queries for analysis, validation, and troubleshooting. - Hands-on experience shipping and maintaining production code in a typed language (we use Node.js/TypeScript; strong experience in Go, Java, or Python transfers well). - A reproducibility instinct—you treat "I can re-run this cleanly next quarter" as part of the job, not an afterthought. - Excellent attention to detail and comfort working with messy data and edge cases. - Strong communicator able to collaborate with our implementation team, software engineers, and external data providers. - Passionate about affordable housing and real estate development is a plus. Benefits - Market-rate compensation aligned with experience and role expectations. - Comprehensive health coverage (medical, dental, and vision). - Equity ownership in Parcell, so you share in the company’s long-term success.

Full TimeRemoteTeam 11-50H1B No Sponsor

Role Description The world doesn’t need a few giant media companies deciding which stories get told. It needs millions of voices who bring weird, wonderful stories to life online. We’re working to help every creator earn a living. Modash helps brands discover, partner with, and pay those creators. In practice, that means helping brands find the right creators, understand their audiences, evaluate fit, and manage campaigns across Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube without drowning in spreadsheets, guesswork, and manual work. We are looking for a Senior Product Engineer to help us take that product further. We already have a strong team of around 20 engineers across four product teams, and we’re continuing to grow as we take on more ambitious problems. As a Senior Product Engineer at Modash, you’ll work closely with product and engineers to turn messy customer problems into simple, useful product experiences. Depending on the team, you might work on: - Discovery: creator search that makes the product value obvious in the first session. - CRM: relationship management and outreach tools that make teams forget about existence of Google Sheets. - Campaigns: performance aggregation across millions of pieces of creator content, helping customers see what worked and what to do next. - Creator: affiliate management, attribution, and payouts that make Modash the easiest way for brands to pay creators. The problems we work on will change. The need for strong sense of ownership will not. You will be expected to: - Turn customer pain into product decisions. Understand what users are trying to do, where they get stuck, and what the simplest useful solution looks like. - Own work from problem to production. Shape the approach, build the solution, ship it, measure what happens, and improve it based on feedback. - Work across the stack and make tradeoffs clearly. Move between frontend, backend, infrastructure, data modeling, debugging, and handling product decisions depending on what the problem needs. - Raise the quality of decisions around you. Ask better questions, challenge weak assumptions, give useful feedback, and help the team keep momentum without waiting for perfect certainty. Qualifications - The best Senior Product Engineers here don’t wait for perfect context. They get close to the customer, make sharp tradeoffs, ship reliable systems, and stay accountable after launch. - You have built and operated production systems that real users depend on. - You have enough backend depth to design, build, and debug production services, APIs, data models, async work, and integrations. In practice, that usually means at least a couple of years of hands-on backend work. - You care about product outcomes, not just technical elegance. - You can learn whatever the problem requires, from frontend patterns to infrastructure, product domains, or AI-assisted workflows. - You are comfortable with ambiguity and can create clarity for yourself and others. - You work well with product designers and care about the quality of the customer experience. Requirements - You probably won’t enjoy this role if you want a narrow frontend-only or backend-only lane. Here you own the stack end-to-end. - You prefer detailed specs handed to you before you start working. - You want the manager to decide your every next step. - You want product managers and designers to define all the solutions before you get involved. - You care more about technical elegance than customer outcomes. Bonus Points - You have worked with Vue, Node.js, TypeScript, AWS, MongoDB, or ClickHouse. - You have worked on technically deep product surfaces: complex workflows, integrations, data-heavy systems, automation, or customer-facing infrastructure. - You have used AI/LLM tools to prototype faster, debug better, or raise the quality of your work. - You have experience in the creator economy, marketplaces, e-commerce, or marketing tools. How We Work - Say the thing clearly and early, especially when it is uncomfortable. - Take ownership without waiting for permission or perfect context (seriously!). - Give feedback that helps the work get better, not feedback that protects egos. - Move fast, but leave people and systems in a better state than you found them. - Care more about doing excellent work than looking senior. Our Tech Stack - Infrastructure: AWS, including ECS, Lambda, S3, CloudFront, SQS, EventBridge, Step Functions, and Pulumi. - Persistence and analytics: MongoDB, ClickHouse. - Backend: Node.js, TypeScript. - Frontend: Vue.js 3, TanStack, Pinia. - Tooling: Cursor, GitHub, Linear, Notion, and Slack. Benefits - €75,000 to €100,000 salary, depending on skills and experience. - Fully remote, from anywhere in Europe. - Unlimited paid vacation 🌴. - Flexible hours, with an async-friendly culture. - High ownership, low bureaucracy, no bullshit. - Personal development support, including courses, books, and conferences on us. - Regular off-sites, so you can connect with your team IRL.
